Exposed Vocals: How did you hear about Exposed Vocals? What made you decide to sign up?
Tim: I was recommend to follow you in a book I read about promoting yourself online.
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Tim: Grew up in Perth, WA started loving electronic music due to the local rave scene, it was my way to escape the bad stuff going on. I became an artist to be a good role model for the next generation.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Tim: My name is my identity and playing yourself is genuine, you can’t fake it.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Tim: I am working hard to get my music to the point people ask for downloads, if I haven’t already put it up for free, if I work hard maybe one day,
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Tim: Work hard to make a name for yourself you miss 100% of the shots you never take. Don’t take no for an answer, don’t just knock on the door barge them down!
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
Tim: I once burned the wrong format of cd, went up to perform and no music played. Was down to 2 cds one with three tracks on them. Point of the story? Fuck up early, next time you will be more prepared.
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
Tim: Last Perth tour I picked up a secret location bush doof last minute, ended up being the best gig of the tour! J
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather song writing inspiration? What is your usual song writing process?
Tim: Tours, Parties, Events, Festivals and time with family. There is so much inspiration around. Write when that inspiration hits. Work to finish tracks not perfection.
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
Tim: I use aboutme.com to centralise everything but I have Facebook, Soundcloud, Mixcloud, tumblr, Twitter and Instragram.
Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?
Tim: I used to DJ at 16 year old birthday parties, so you might find a little Kesha and the Spice Girls.
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
Tim: Go for a world tour, buy studio and buy share into a nightclub.
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
Tim: I work with my Technics hd 25 headphones and macbook pro 13 inch. Would love studio monitors & Macbook uprgrade to full specs.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Tim: Guerrilla warfare, find your biggest fans and have them share your music. Support others they will support you!
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
Tim: Kurt Kobain, guy was a legend!
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Tim: Working on remix for Duane Bartalo and an X-files bootleg.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Tim: Event + artist management.
Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head?
Tim: Jump – Kris Kros , used to dance to it as kid.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
Tim: Lock your door, turn your phone off & sign of facebook.
