Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

 

TdaiBeenGeechie: I was born in a small city in North Carolina called Fayetteville but most people call it “the Ville” but I grew up in Charlotte NC, where I spent most of my teenage life. But the reason why I decide to become an artist was from chilling with my team when they be in the studio and this goes back to four years ago when my brother Von started OMB (Only My Brothers).

 

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

 

TdaiBeenGeechie: my name started off as just Tdai, but an artist I work with brought The word “GEECHIE” to my attention so I just ran with it “TdaiBeenGeechie” because you kno the words “drippy,sauce,flav and swag” poppin right now so I wanted to bring something new to the table.

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

 

TdaiBeenGeechie: I think online music sharing is a good way for new artist such as my self to put their music out to the public because I feel like if it was for online music sharing a lot of artist that’s hot right now wouldn’t be booming. All my music is free has of right now until I decide if I want to release and album or something like that and probably get it on iTunes.

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

TdaiBeenGeechie: Just keep on grinding is all I can say. Get your city behind you and it’s a go. Once you have the right support team and positive vibes around you people going to want to see what you about and start hitting you up wanting you to do shows, features, interviews, etc.

 

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

 

TdaiBeenGeechie: I get my inspiration from listening to beats on YouTube, It’s gets me hype and ready to lay something down in the studio. Sometimes my process goes by smoking wit my team and free-styling on beats and getting ideas from them.

Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

 

TdaiBeenGeechie: yes it’s https://soundcloud.com/tdainumbafoe , most of the websites I use like that is soundcloud and Twitter.

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

 

TdaiBeenGeechie: I’m taking my whole team on a trip around the world and we splurging in every mall then I’m going to buy my own building where I can set my own studio environment at.

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

 

TdaiBeenGeechie: I use Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, I have a good promotion team behind me I have so much love for them if it wasn’t for them and the sites I use everything I’m doing now wouldn’t be possible.

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

 

TdaiBeenGeechie: I’m currently working on some new singles I’m trying to release in the spring, working on the WaveyPosse EP with my fellow artist it’s going to turn the world up with this new sound we trying to do.

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

 

TdaiBeenGeechie: I really don’t kno what I would be doing because of right now this music is my life and I’m taking it serious more then I have before.

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

 

TdaiBeenGeechie: I try my best to put my music first but with out my job none of the music I make now wouldn’t be happening but once I start seeing my music taking a step forward and I’m making money off of it then music will be my number one first priority.

Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?

 

TdaiBeenGeechie: Just be ready for that WaveyPosse EP dropping this summer it’s going to be some heat. Don’t sleep on me because I’m coming strong wit this music.
