Exposed Vocals Interviews Steve Francise “Franchise Beats”

Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become a Producer?

Steve Francise: I grow up at time when most kids played Nintendo most of the day, But me I had A rolad drum machine and I sat and banged out drum beats all day. I always know music was just a part of me. My journey through life has been what you call eventful lol. I have been homeless sleeping in my car, To serving in the military, Fighting in Iraq. Now i just try to take all the thing that I have been though, All the thing that make me me and put it into my music.

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

Steve Franchise:  I got this name from a very close friend of mine who lost his life, But he use to always tell me they the way I operate and how I do thing that I wouls have a franchise of my own one day. Then one day we were at a rap battle and he introduced me as Steve Franchise

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

Steve Franchise: Well with anything in moderation it can be a useful tool in marketing and promotion. It’s when thing get abused that you start to have problems. I give music to people all the time not saying i just throw beats around, But if I see you grinding and working hard I don;t mind helping. We all could use a little kindness some time.

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

Steve Franchise: I’m gone give you the only rule or tip I live by This is what I tell myself this in the words of floyd mayweather “Hard Work Dedication”

Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?

Steve Franchise: I make them all the time but the key is to play it as cool as you can in the heat of the moment, But afterward we always joke about it.

Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?

Steve Franchise: As the lead producer at Franchise Beats I was traveling with a artist I produce for and we were in a hotel room on the sixth floor and he drunk so he just starts pissing off the balcony. I’m like you are so wrong.

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

Steve Franchise: As I stated earlier my life is my inspiration, And I always start out here a sound in my head and i go and try to recreate it. I also don’ believe in packing to much needless sound in my music.

Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?

Steve Franchise: My nuts by the fat boys and ice ice baby by vanilla ice.

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

Steve Franchise: I would first visit jamaica and reconnect with my dna. I would probably spend alot of time at summer sports camps with the kids. I’m a big sports fan and they know it’s #DC4L for life.

Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?

Steve Franchise:Right now I’m kinda content with what I’m Using because i don’t like to change to much once I get somthing that works for me. Right now I have a 8 core workstation with the apollo twin usb as my interface and I run krk rkt8’s for my monitors. I also use fl studio and the maswchine studio.

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

Steve Franchise: For me word of mouth has been the biggest help to me. Working with people and building a good reputation is the best way.

Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?

Steve Franchise: I would love to perform with Drake at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium. I chose Drake because as an artist the guy as been putting the work in.

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

Steve Franchise: Right now were getting ready for the roll out of all the Steve Franchise Products from drum kits, to midi construction packs, all the way to custom Steve Franchise Mixer Presets.

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

Steve Franchise: Probably building muscle cars. I love custom cars.

Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head?

Steve Franchise: My first album I ever bought was Dj Screw Three In The Mourning. I was just like man this joint bang.

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

Steve Franchise: Well the only way all this works is having a dedicated team around you that has the same vision as you do.

Steve Franchise: Steve Franchise and Franchise Beats becoming a lot more of a hot commodity.
