Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Sonny brasilio: I grew up on the west side of Chicago IL what made me become a rapper was being around my cousins watching and learning how they did rap music back in 2003 I started rapping and it became something that I love doing so I stuck with it
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Sonny brasilio: well my name was sonny black at first based off the movie Donnie brasco then I had to change it because every time people would type in the sonny black on youtube to watch my videos it would be so many diferent sonny blacks popping up so I dropped the black and added brasilio so I would be the only one with the name sonny brasilio and it just stuck
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Sonny brasilio: I may drop a few songs and post them online for free just to let the fans have something to listen to while I’m working on a new mixtape or Ep
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Sonny brasilio: I would say keep dropping hot music and videos do lots of shows build a fan base network with Dj’s other artists and producers what ever it takes to get your name out there
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
Sonny brasilio: I come up with most of my songs at my job I create a hook or a dope verse in my head while i’m working and turn it into a song easy or most of the time when i’m home I listen to beats and write to them
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
Sonny brasilio: I use youtube,soundcloud,
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
Sonny brasilio: The first thing I would do is make sure my mixtapes or Album is ready presed up to be dropped so my fans have some new music from me while while I’m off for the year then I would pay all m bills up that way I don’t owe any money then I would invest in real estate my music and start a business that’s going to make me lots of money because a half million dollars is not enough for me I would take my girl and my kids on a nice vacation put what evers left of that half million in the bank and remain humble as I always been and continue doing music
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Sonny brasilio: I promote my music by blogging on different sites and I have lots of people that share it and promote it for me as well it works best for me when it’s promoted that way
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Sonny brasilio: yes I’m dropping a NEXX LEVEL mixtape august 26th wit my squad kid blizz and castro so be on the look out for that I have a few new videos dropping soon as well
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Sonny brasilio: If I wasn’t making music i’ll be working a good paying job as i do now and learning more about real estate because that’s something i always wanted to do before i started rapping
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
Sonny brasilio: My priorities comes first so i make sure my family is taken care of and make sure my bills are paid then i focus on my music after that
