Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

> So Ric: I Grew up on the West Side of Jackson,  Mississippi in a neighborhood called Washington Addition Known as WDP, and what made me wanted to do music was I use to watch alot of BET an i would see people telling they life story while having fun why doing and music to me by itself is beautiful art so yes that’s why I love doing it.

> Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

> So Ric: When I was young I loved to workout so I walked around with my shirt off all the time an one day i walked in the house where the family was an my uncle said why you always have yo shirt off for now on Ima call you silverback, Which is a strong gorilla meaning Solid and my name is Ricky- (So Ric) so yea that’s where I get my name and inspiration from.

> Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

> So Ric: Online music sharing is amazing cause you have so many people with different taste in music and totally different sound that you may never know about until you get online it’s beautiful, and yes I would and I have gave music away for free before, I’ve been there before when I’ve have to give my music away just from starting out you know to get notice but once you get notice and the people you use to give your music to for free i call them fan now which they are my supporters will help you out not only just to help but because they know you have a family also you know so where I come from they call that a Hustle/Grind and it is to be respected at all time but yes I have gave music away for free

> Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

> So Ric: I have 3 main rules when you starting out with wanting to live yo dream doing music #Rule 1. Set your mind on what you are trying to accomplish cause if you want it so bad and you believe an tell yoself you can and will do it can’t nobody stop you, #Rule 2. Target every hottest DJ in yo city its all about connections if they love your music they gone listen to yo music every where they go meaning clubs, little get-togethers anything dealing with music and people always gone turn to a party get close with you city DJs, Most Important #Rule 3. Pray everyday morning, evening and night because if it wasn’t for god you wouldn’t have that amazing voice you’re using to tell your life story but them my tips just pray be patient and grind.

> Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

> So Ric: I write what I feel, I write what I’ve been through, I write from the bottom of my heart, I write about the struggle me and my family still go through everyday like sometimes I’ll go for a ride and just think what if an appreciate the love by the way Exposed Vocals, but when I did dat song (Go Get It), it was from the the heart so when I spoke it  I put that feeling in rimes not only to just be talking but in a way they would understand cuz i real life had it bad growing up with out a father and I’m da oldest outta 5 kids that put the man of the house bar on my shoulders an you know I aint finna let my family starve I wanna see them get  healthy first cause when its all said and done my family come first- (FCF In Bio) we all gone eat but they get there’s first I’ll  eat last as long as they good im good but that’s my process my family motivate me.

> Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

> So Ric: I don’t have a band website yet but I do use YouTube and SoundCloud to share my music, the name for both of them are (So Ric YNWD) that’s how you can find me on YouTube and SoundCloud

> Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

> So Ric: I would take the time out to make sure my family straight an actually give back to my community and not just talk about it.

> Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

> So Ric: To me it’s all about connections like especially dealing with your supporters, you never know who knows who, and also i promote my music on social media that’s what’s really hot like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter anything dealing with the internet trust me that’s a wonderful way to promote your music also, and like the old fashion way you still can go place to place and pass your music out (CDs) those are all the things I do to promote my music.

> Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
>

> So Ric: I’m working on a Mixtape called Get To Know Me I’m actually starting a group its going to be me So Ric & another artist name Lil Jeremy Called PG-Pretzel Gang it’s based on sticking together no matter what and doing everything together as brothers that’s the project I’m working on.

> Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
>

> So Ric: I’ll probably be playing baseball or trying to become the best artist/Painter in the world you know still grind to make sure my family eat, the positive way.

> Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
>

> So Ric: I just pray and stay humble you know, take it day by day and stay out the way of trouble.

> Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?

> So Ric: They should be looking forward to seeing me alot more and hearing alot more music from Pretzel Gang.
