Exposed Vocals: How did you hear about Exposed Vocals? What made you decide to sign up?

 

Slowtruck: How did we hear about Exposed vocals? Well Exposed Vocals actually contacted us, through our Twitter and reverbnation account, which we are ranked #1 in the alternative rock genre, locally, and Nationwide we are # 1176.

 

Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

 

Slowtruck:  Our Story? We all grew up in Tucson, AZ We have been playing together on and off for 20 plus years, and there is not much to do in Tucson because it is so hot, so we followed our passion and became artists.

 

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

 

Slowtruck: Danny actually came up with the name “Slowtruck” We had several names before this, The one we used the most was Rosefurcoat, I, Danny,  was driving through Ohio, to a new job site and I saw a sign that said “Caution, Slow Truck” I asked The guys and they said, “cool” After that we were known as “Slowtruck”

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

 

Slowtruck: All of us believe that online music sharing is awesome, we love it! It lets us show the people our music, we are extremely passionate and are very proud of the work we have been doing recently, its some of the best music we have ever written.

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

Slowtruck: Our advise for local bands is to never give up, keep rockin and rollin!

 

Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?

 

Slowtruck: Do we ever make mistakes during performances, yes, all of us do, we are just normal people we just don’t stop playing, most of the time we are the few that know a mistake was made.

 

Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?

Slowtruck: We have went on tour, in Southern California and local surrounding states, Did anything interesting

happen during the tour? Yes, alot, Our tour truck broke down, we ended up playing on the side of the road to try to get gas money to get home. One of the guys in the band (no names) was buying a snickers but he didn’t bring any money, we found out that when we would give him money for beer etc. he kept all of our change, and didn’t even mention that when we needed gas!

 

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

 

Slowtruck:  We write our songs by bouncing ideas off of each other and our life experiences. All of us have been throughalot of things in our lives, which fuels the fire to our songs.

Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?

 

Danny: Air supply “all out of love”

Dave: B52’s  “Rock Lobster”

Dale: Darkness “I believe in a thing called love”

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

 

Slowtruck: If we were given a half million dollars and a year off, we would build a state of the art studio, maybe travel to Northern Cali (surfing!!!) and Oregon.

Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?

 

Danny: I play with a fender p-bass or a Ibanez G-10 on a Laney amp……depending on my mood.

Dave: I play with a Les Paul on a behringer amp.

Dale: I play with a pearl drumset.

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

 

Slowtruck: So far the best promotion we have is all social media and of course, word of mouth.

Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?

 

Dave: If I could perform with any artist dead or alive, it would have to be Pink Floyd at Madison Square Gardens.

Dale: Definitely Jimi Hendrix at Budokan theatre in Tokyo, Japan

Danny: Afghan Wigs in Red rock CO

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

 

Slowtruck: We are currently recording a new album, it will be completed around end of this month, Feb. 2016

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

If we werent making music, Dale is a plumber, Dave is a chef and Danny is a union pipefitter.

 

Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head?

 

Slowtruck: Yes, we all remember buying our first albums,

Danny, mine was Quiet Riot, mental health because it was bad ass!

Dale, mine was Kiss, Animal eyes they actually took their makeup off!

Dave, mine was Rush, Caress of steal, also because it was bad ass!

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

 

Slowtruck: We handle the rest of our responsibilities while always making time for our music, it is like a release of stress when we perform.

Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?
