Since 1996, Sheri has been conducting many spiritual journeys(shamanic) utilizing varying Native American Drums, rattles, and rain sticks to communicate spiritually to channel healing energy.  Her drums represent her faith in God or a higher power through her journeys.  As a result of a near death experience she found her true path in life, believes that prayers do get answered and that talking to angels is the most scared gift one can receive from God.  After having lost both parents and many loved ones, her journeys keep her connected spiritually to loved ones through infinity.

Her music created as result of her spiritual journeys has been reviewed by several Grammy award winning professionals as “amazing”.  The feelings one receives from her journeys is one of peace and enlightenment.

Her “Infinity” Cd released only digitally is a meditational spiritual shamanic journey with Native American Drums, rattles and rain sticks which leaves one feeling peaceful.  The best way to get full enjoyment from her music is the listen with headphones as if you were at the Conglomerate Falls.  The river separates into two sections falling around an island of conglomerate rock which gives the falls its name.  Enjoy a journey by following the feelings of the two heartbeats represented by the drums.  A peaceful feeling of being centered will flow through you as gently as the river flows.  The water flows through the rain sticks as the drums beat as two heartbeats becoming one.  Rattles stir up the sounds of nature as a friendly woodpecker visits the forest enjoying the enlightenment.  Thank you for sharing my journey and may you feel peaceful in the light of truth.

 

Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

 

Sheridrum: First of all, I want to tell you how much I appreciate your help, it touches my heart deeply. Thank you for your kindness.  I was born in Silver City,New Mexico on February 10, 1963. At age 5 my family relocated to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Ironwood.  It’s an overall tourist town with Lake Superior, waterfalls, ski hills, and Ottawa National Forest.  It’s truly why we call it God’s Land, it’s beautiful! I became an artist in 5th grade playing the drums and participated in high school marching band, jazz band, and solo & ensemble festivals.  I won several medals as a drummer and even was awarded the John Phillip Sousa Band Award.

 

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

 

Sheridrum:   My drum is my inspiration behind the name, it’s just and extension of myself.  My drums connect me directly to the spiritual world when I journey . In fact, my first drum saved my life! My drums are healing tools as a result of being able to channel spiritual energy instantly via my shamanic abilities.  The world is in need.

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

 

Sheridrum:  I believe it’s fantastic to use to get music anywhere in the world so quickly!  I have free listening on my music available on Facebook, Sound Cloud, Twitter and CD Baby.  I think it’s great to help people with some free music, not everyone can afford it.

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Sheridrum: To believe in your faith, your prayers and your destiny.  Never give up on your dreams to do what you believe in your heart is your true path in life!  Network, meet new people, and strive to work with other creative artists! Always believe in yourself!

 

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

 

Sheridrum: When I am alone in the quiet among my animals and nature, I meditate and reach into my heart, focus on the feelings and then write whatever comes out.  I don’t really have a “usual” anything, it must be the Aquarius in me. I love creating something new or different daily whether it be music, food, or something adventurous and unusual.

Sheridrum:  I am my own band.   Right now, I use Facebook, Twitter, Sound Cloud or CD Baby pages. I use each of them in different ways to try to link up to create and bring a healing vibration, a new wave of spirituality into the music world. Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

 

Sheridrum: Buy a home with a large yard enclosed so my dogs could run free!  I’d build a huge garden to grow all kinds of food.  I love to can and make my own creations with food.  It’s best when it fresh out the garden!   Then I would invest it, donate some of it to places in need.  Animal Abuse, Domestic Violence, Food Pantries, Elderly Care & Neglect. I would start creating a worldwide “umbrella” foundation for healing that main focus is on preventative medicine and covers mankind’s well-being; body, mind & spirit.

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

 

Sheridrum: I first started by using my business skills acquired from being a Corporate Statistician for Kellogg’s , a fortune 100 Company, and talking to people the business strategy way.  Nowadays, I am trying to roll along with technology and go about it electronically. It’s not always that easy when I am not too “in-tune” with technology!

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

 

Sheridrum:  Thanks for asking.  Right now I am adding my shamanic drum journey sounds to a few songs with my close friend Barry L. Chaplin from London, England.  He is a singer, songwriter, play writer, and into theater in Europe.  Two songs “Lollipops & Candy Canes” and “Making Christmas Ours” are for the holidays.  “One Way Love” has a bit of a country style to it.  I’m extremely fond of him and have been friends for many years.  I love his creations just as much as I love him!  I also am trying to make a direct connection with one of my greatest inspirations, Melissa Etheridge. I gave her one of my shaman drums with recordings of some of her songs with my drums added and some Elton John songs.  I am patiently waiting the reply.  If I can step out of a limb for a minute, I was told spiritually that it will work, so I am overwhelmed with energy!!

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

 

Sheridrum: I would have to keep busy, boredom is not me! Hands-on healing, Crafting, Soaps, working on my 62 studebaker, assisting the elderly, and enjoying the outdoors more.

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

 

Sheridrum: I’m a great “juggler”, it’s important to me to keep busy! I feel better about myself if everyday is a positive productive day keeping my life balanced, laughing, and being clear minded.  I relax best with my animals giving and receiving love.  They are my bosses!

Sheridrum: I see an informidable force of positive healing energy to succumb all negative forces.  A year of positive, uplifting healing through peaceful vibrations out to the world.  I pray for God to be in control and that God’s will be done.
