Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Sereus Blaq: I grew up in the heart of West Palm Beach Fl. My mother was a singer, so I always had music embedded in my life. But high school, doing freestyle battle’s is when I first harness my craft.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Sereus Blaq: I am a serious African American man in all walks of life. There’s a time to have fun,then there’s a time to be serious and that’s how I carry myself as a person. I wanted to be unique so I changed up the spelling of my name.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Sereus Blaq: Sharing is definitely good, it’s a great way of marketing. Yeah I give away free music. Not everyone’s going to buy your music this gives a consumer and opportunity to become a fan.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Sereus Blaq: Consistently “Grind” for what you want. Have a goal and stick to it. Networking is “Key” get known and heard that’s how I was fortunate to get this interview.
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
Sereus Blaq: Silence. I don’t like to get inspired by anyone else’s music so I can keep my music as original as possible.
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
Sereus Blaq: Get myself well established with a house and car and just work on music even on my time off. Workaholic I guess.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Sereus Blaq: Social Media is my main outlet to get my music seen and heard. Soundcloud and Facebook are top on my list I’m just getting the hang of Twitter.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Sereus Blaq: I’m currently working on a EP “Too Dam Serious” right now I’m promoting my single

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Sereus Blaq: Going crazy lol. Music is everything to me it’s just a relaxing feeling to create music.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
Sereus Blaq: I just take one day at a time. Sometimes you can become a starving artist before you see the light at the end of the tunnel. Focus and balance.
