Exposed Vocals: How did you hear about Exposed Vocals? What made you decide to sign up?
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
I come from a small town in Maryland. Down the southern area of Maryland, and I’ve been rhyming every since I was 13 but always kept it to myself. Until one day someone heard me and said I should put my music out I was around 17 then.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Well Semaj is my last name backwards and a lot of friends and family always called me that so I stuck with it.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
I put my music on soundcloud under Semaj World so people can listen to it for free. I think its very helpful for online music, because that way you can get your self out there more a lot of people can listen to you.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Well the best tip that I can give in my opinion is that you have to stay focused don’t let the negative bring you down at all, and the most important thing will be is to push yourself. Nobody is going to ever be able to push you the way you push yourself.
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
Yes I have, but I try not to stress over it, I try to keep performing to keep up a good performance.
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
I haven’t got a big tour yet, but I do know that you never travel alone.
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
I listen to story teller rappers, and listen to what there story is. Then I put headphones on be in my zone and write real life situations that I’ve been through and see if someone out there can relate.
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
I use Soundcloud.com YouTube.com and is ready to use spinrila.
Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?
Some of the songs I used to make when I was younger when I use to record off a iPhone headphones mic. The quality was just horrible, but the lyrics are my lyrics.
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
My family enough said. Family
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
I go to studios in maryland. I mean I did a huge upgrade from recording off my headphones to now going in a real studio that has a real booth.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Definitely soundcloud.com, and a word of mouth.
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
I want to perform at the Madison Square Garden, with Kevin Gates, Drake, and Jcole.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Yes I have a mixtape dropping very soon titled, Can’t Stop Now. It will be dropping on soundcloud, YouTube, spinrila, datpiff. Most of the sharing music online websites.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Working on cars and still playing football.
Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head?
My first album I bought was Beware of Dog by lil bow wow. The only thing that kept running through my mind was I want to be like him, I’m going to be like him, and I will be like him.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
It’s hard oh yes definitely hard. But I stick it out and work through it for the better, never quit on your dream.

My Can’t Stop Now, and another mixtape titled, Came To Far.
