Page 1 started his rap career with the group he founded Detromental, short for Detroit mentality in 1998. Detro. Had music on Spike t.v., dvd’s, and a Christmas compilation. Page went solo after one of his group members(Magnum) broke his neck in 2004. His first solo Lp “True hood stories” distributed by cdbaby (Super-D) released in 2007. The track “Fallen” off the Lp was featured on In the shadow of an icon released on Thug life army/ Universal music group 1998.
Shortly after its release Page1 was sentenced to 40 months in a federal prison. Released in 2010 Page got right back in the studio recording his second Lp. (enagament) date TBA.
Page1 appeared in the movie 8mile, and has opened up for C-murder 2001 at Club Hustle town in Houston, Texas.
Page1 influences growing up where Run-Dmc, LL Cool j, Ice-T, N.W.A, Eric B. and Rakim.

Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

Page1:I grew up on Detroit’s westside 7mile I became an artist because I felt that I could one day inspire someone like I was growing up listening to Run-Dmc,LL Cool J, The Fat boyz, etc..

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

Page1: I started off in the elate 80’s raping and the name I had then didn’t fit into the new era of artist names. So I was racking my brain trying to come up with a new one that was true to me. So one day it just came to me being that I keep it 100 and I always carried my rhyme book where ever I went, thus the name Page1.

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

Page1: I’m not really hip to online music sharing. I will give away music because if it can gain a potential fan it was worth it.

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

Page1: Any artist should now to get shows (paid) you have to have a fan base. Or just throw your own show with someone that’s known in your town. Air play comes in many forms in today’s music scene, start with internet play.

Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?

Page1: It’s very rare that I make mistakes, but if I do I just put the mic towards the crowd and jump back in when I’m on track.

Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?

Page1: I have yet to tour, but I’am opening for Snoop dogg, Wiz Kalifa, and Kevin Gates in Atlanta July 22nd

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

Page1: Most of my music is from experience sometimes it just comes out, and other times I need a beat to write a song.

Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

Page1: I’m currently working on my website, so as of right now I’m on soundcloud, and reverbnation

Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?

Page1: You won’t find nothing embarrassing to me on my system

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

Page1: I would still make music recording is so satisfying. I would also probably start writing a movie.

Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?

Page1: I record on pro tools 12 we have all the plug-ins, countless sounds. I can’t think of anything more other than some singers.

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

Page1: I just like to do things others are not that’s all I say about that

Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?

Page1: I would luv to do a concert with Eazy-E N.W.A, and Tupac in LA

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

Page1: I’ve yet to release the album for the single “Enagament” After that will be a 10 track album for the ladies titled The Page of luv

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

Page1: I can’t imagine anything else

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

Page1: Well music is my life so it all fits where it’s supposed to fit.
