Exposed Vocals: How did you hear about Exposed Vocals? What made you decide to sign up?
Master Tempo Knight: I heard about it from Twitter. What made me sign up you ask? Well I love to produce music and music edits. I love to play with sounds and such. So I thought if I signed up that I could spread my work to others and maybe inspire others.
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Master Tempo Knight: I grew up in New Jersey until I was 6 then I moved to Virginia Beach in Virginia. I had many things done in school. I loved today’s technology and I further into electronics at VOTECH. I graduated high school with honors. Soon after that I started listening to many bands such as Get Scared, Oomph! Black Veil Brides, and many other bands. It could go on forever listing from dubstep to rock to metal. The list would be endless because I just love music. So I started playing with a app called Music Maker Jam. I grew interested in music and it grew into my mind. So I started making Dubstep as shown my sound cloud account. I have 4 dubstep songs so far. Then I heard of a music genre called Night core. So I looked up how to make them. What shocked me was I was missing out on a software called Audacity. I used it and I started producing Night core soon afterword’s. I started borrowing band’s music listened to and transformed them into night core. The sounds were a lot different after I made my version. I always put the original artist in my track name. The music I make are sometime edits of others songs. The songs are recreated songs. The lyrics are the same just different pitch and tempo.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Master Tempo Knight: Why my name is named Master Tempo knight you ask? That’s easy I simple I love to play with the tempo of a song. I will play with tempo till the song sounds right. My inspiration you ask? It’s my love to mess with tempo in music.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Master Tempo Knight: Well in some situations it is such as YouTube, twitter, Facebook, and other social websites. Though I do prefer people to at least give me credit for my work when they take it. People these days will just download and tell people it’s their work. That’s just plain sick if you ask me. Just not as sick these beats and tempos I use. That’s how I flow with my tempos. Giving my music away you ask? If it’s for editing, then yes. If they want to steal my work, then no.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Master Tempo Knight: Yeah I have a few. One is to put in something that draws the crowd. You want to wow them not bore them. Second of all you need to have a great stage name and 3rd and last, you need to keep on going and don’t stop jamming.
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
Master Tempo Knight: I don’t recall messing up. Hint the name “Master” Tempo knight. My flow is absolute with out of this world beats. I just keep on jamming as I keep on flowing to the beat of my songs.
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
Master Tempo Knight: No I’m still working up the charts. Once I get my music higher ill start growing my music then I will. There is a lot to do and so little time. I’d love to tour though.
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
Master Tempo Knight: Well I usually listen to YouTube videos or just listen to the sounds of earth and its surrounds. Then BAM!!! It hits me and I start producing the jams. My tempo is my heart and soul in the music.
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
Master Tempo Knight: Not yet but I plan to produce a site cause not only do I have sick jams but I’m also an amazing photo editor and website maker. My online platforms you ask? I use mostly Sound cloud but I haven’t done much on my YT channel or my Mix cloud. I also have a Facebook page that I post my songs on it. I’m also working on a song request blog website.
Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?
Master Tempo Knight: I’m not really ashamed of any music. Music is actually a great culture in society. It helps us in life but for me all music is inspiration to the mind.
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
Master Tempo Knight: I would buy better software to make better music and upgrade my gear that use to make my songs. I would also make a studio room. It’s would be nice to liven an area to do my music at.
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
Master Tempo Knight: I just bought some new gear but I’m hoping to upgrade my software that I use to make my music. There is some beats that are just itching for me to tap into. There is never going to be a time that I run out of song ideas.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Master Tempo Knight: That’s would be Sound cloud. It’s so easy to put my songs on. I love how you can see the views of the songs I just wish they didn’t allow people to buy views. It’s stupid cause now I can’t really tell if people listened to the songs or if that they bought them.
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
Master Tempo Knight: I’m more of a solo person but it would be nice to work with Skrillex. He is my hero. That guy makes awesome songs. His sounds are so amazing that it makes you want to listen to the song over and over again.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Master Tempo Knight: I’ve been working on game remixes. They should be on my sound cloud account pretty soon. Don’t step away from that chair people you know you’ve been blow away when I drop these beats on you.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Master Tempo Knight: What I would do you ask? That’s simple. I would make Video games or try out for a college soccer team.
Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head?
Master Tempo Knight: well I first bought a CD back when 16 and it was Linkin park Album called Living things. The beats and tempo were just mind blowing. It made wonder how it was done.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
I usually put the important stuff first or get an organized plan. Sometimes I even multitask. You never know when I drop the tempo it just happens like BAM!! And it’s there. I’ll be making songs till I can’t do no more but that won’t happen because there is so many ways that I could blow your mind.
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?
Master Tempo Knight: They should be looking out for more of my songs with sick tempos cause there out of this world and heading their way. These tempos I use will blow your mind. So Just keep your eyes on my Sound cloud account.
