Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist? 

 

Lyndon Rivers  I grew up in the city of Bristol England . I became an Artist/Songwriter , because I had it in my mind , for a long period of my life , to write songs . Something told me suddenly in 2010 , to write songs .

I guess it was the right time !

 

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

Lyndon Rivers I feel strongly , that Spotify and the likes , should only be allowed to stream tracks , that are 2 years old or more . to give a chance for Artist’s to get some sales , under their belts .

No one wants to buy music anymore , they expect it for free . I don’t give my tracks away free , their is so many doing that now .

 

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

 Lyndon Rivers The tip is hours of Promotion , on the computer , sending emails to Radio , up to 500 hundred a week . The response is low , so you have to keep going with it .

 

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process

                           

                           I never set out to write a song , about something or someone  . I write the chorus  first , so when I think of some catchy lyrics , I quickly write them down .

Once the chorus is there , also the melody at the same time , I think of a story line for the verses . To match what the chorus is about , of course .

Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

 

Lyndon Rivers I use mainly Reverbnation , for my music , to be listened to . Also on Facebook etc .

I don’t have a website yet , to be honest , I just have not had time , to sit down and get it going . So many of my hours are spent on the promotion side , and researching for different ways to promote .  Then there is Social media , to keep up with , I spend too much time on that , But it must be done !

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

 

Lyndon Rivers I suppose I would have a few holidays , in my favourite places , like Noosa in Queensland .

A new car would be on the list , as well . A top notch computer for my music , to produce

backing tracks etc . My family would get some money , as well . Go to concerts , sporting events . So much to do !

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

 

Lyndon Rivers Like I said before , I send emails to Radio Stations , I have sent thousands . I search on the net , for websites to use for other promo . I have an on going ad on Facebook , I change it regular .

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

 

Lyndon Rivers I have 3 projects at the moment , with 3 different Artists , 2 in the UK , and 1 in Australia .

So there will be 3 single releases , with them . All Pop/Dance tracks !

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

 

Lyndon Rivers   I would be spending more time , on sport . Creating betting systems , for Horse Racing I expect,  it’s good fun , if they pick winners !

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

 

Lyndon Rivers   I work part time hours , then spend say 4 hours a day , doing something with music .

It all about dedication , and determination . Nothing comes to you , it’s all hard work .

Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?

 

Lyndon Rivers Plenty of exciting tracks , to be released . I have just had a single release on March 12th .

A dance track , called “You  Got It ” produced by me . Very high energy track , a party one for sure !
