My is Lil Dre im an Upcoming artist originally from Peoria Illinois. I realized my Passion for music when i was about 13 years old i used to Wake up In The morning And hear my Idols such as Drake Future and Lil Wayne spitting some of There hottest verses i then realized that music is What i want to Do. Since then i have been working hard trying to Promote my Music several ways i have also been working on My very first Mixtape entitled The Come Up I have been working with a variety of Producers and other local and major artist for my Project. The Come Up Should be released around May or April
Exposed Vocals: How did you hear about Exposed Vocals? What made you decide to sign up?
Lil Dre: I heard about Exposed Vocals through Twitter they followed me First then i followed them and Then they direct messaged me.
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Lil Dre: I grew up In Peoria Illinois its kinda a small city but we Get around. Theres not much support there. I found my Passion for music when i was about 13 or 14 i had a little radio in My Room that would play Drake and Lil Wayne every morning and all day i used to Hear all kinds of Things such as Things they were doing and that made me Turn to It.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Lil Dre: The name Lil Dre kinda comes from my Middle name because its Deandre but i just shortened it To Dre and i put the Lil on Their because of My Idol Lil Wayne.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Lil Dre: Online music Sharing is Ok As Long as No One steals it. And yes i give my Music away for free all the time mainly because im An Upcoming artist who is Not signed and i probably wouldnt charge that much if I was signed to A major label.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Lil Dre: Um Yea first thing is Dont let anybody record your music and second thing stay true to Yourself and your music because thats why u have fans they love hearing the things u talk about and if Your not being true to Them then you arent true to Yourself. Third thing is Keep trying no Matter what.
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
Lil Dre: Acutually i have never performed physically this year will be My First time performing Live. But im Sure ill probably get a little nervous.
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
Lil Dre: I have not been on A tour yet.
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
Lil Dre: I usually will just let the beat talk to Me And then let my Thumbs do The rest because i write in My Notepad in My Phone i dont use paper and pencil its too much.
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
Lil Dre: I use things like Reverbnation Soundcloud and Youtube for my Music.
Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?
Lil Dre: Most likely none because i put my All into all of My Music not just one specific song so Every song comes from the heart.
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
Lil Dre: If I was given a half of A million dollars i would buy my Own studio mainly and get a couple cars and catch up On My Wardrobe and then donate $50,000 to A charity.
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
Lil Dre: I am currently working with Pro Tools 7 i hear its what all the big time rappers are using .
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Lil Dre: I usually just keep sharing them on all my Social sites.
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
Lil Dre: If I could perform with anyone at anywhere it Would be Drake Future And Lil Wayne in Miami. Mainly because like i said before Wayne is My Idol and Drake is A unique rapper he Is My Number one Idol and Future because no One else can rap like him.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Lil Dre: Yes i want to Talk about my Very first Mix tape entitled The Come Up It Should be dropping around April or May.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Lil Dre: If I weren’t making music ill probably be Bored out of my Mind because writing music takes me Away from Earth and Reality.
Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head?
Lil Dre: My First Album i bought was a Drake album and it Was Take Care. I was listening to It And i was just thinking like man wow only if i can give other people the vibe he Giving me.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
Lil Dre: Im Pretty good at Juggling both at A time.
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?
Lil Dre: They can definetly look forward to New and better music and look forward to Me Blowing up.
