Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

Kyro: Hello, My name is Kyro and im from London, UK. Since I was young, music has always been a big influence in my life. I Started making music around 15 but at the time I wasn’t serious about it. Later on in life my music started to grow on me and I decided to take it more seriously. Over time my music started to take a weird direction as it wasn’t the type of music people my age and my area would make although I got a lot of good feedback from people around my area and the internet. Which made me decided to carry on making music.

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

Kyro: Well I’ve had a few other names in the past but I decided to keep kyro because it was based off my actual name Kai. To me Kyro is like an alter ego which shows a deeper side of Kai.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Kyro: At the moment I only put my music on soundcloud. I plan on giving away my music for free at the start of my actual career but later on down the line I plan on charging people for my music. I don’t do it for the money so I’m not really fussed.

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Kyro: Have confidence in yourself and your music, don’t let people put you down over bad feedback just learn from it and improve.

Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?

Kyro: When I was performing once the mic started playing up. I then made a joke to keep the crowd entertained and when the mic started to work I carried on performing.

Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?

Kyro: Nope, never been on tour before.

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

Kyro: Usually when I write lyrics I’m feeling depressed and just want to escape from reality so I would just get comfortable and write what’s on my mind.
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

Kyro: Yeah, me and my group ‘Vivid Disciples” are on youtube. On our youtube you can get a feel of what we are like together as group. I use instagram, facebook, twitter to share my music but mostly instagram since I use that the most.
Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?

Kyro: I don’t think I have any lol probably some anime original sound track songs but they cool to listen to even though I don’t understand japanese.
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

Kyro: I would first make a plan of how I would spend it. I would spend a lot on musical equipment to make my sound more higher quality and I will spend a lot towards the promotion side. Probably buy a few otherr stuff I might need and whatever is left I will save it for a rainy day.
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?

Kyro: Yeah at the moment I’m recording with a USB microphone but in the next month I am due to get a better Mic which would improve the quality of my music.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

Kyro: Using social media mostly also telling the people I know
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?

Kyro: I think it would have to be a underground artist called Denzel Curry. Since were both underground and he’s from the US and I’m from the UK I think we could create a good sound and the vibe would be cool. I met him a few months ago he seems like a cool guy.

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

Kyro: I got movement I wanted to start called COMA Music but I don’t really want to go into detail. I rather my music in the future speaks for itself.

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

Kyro: I have no idea lol.
Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head?

Kyro: its rare for someone of my generation to buy albums but the first album I bought out of my own money was ‘Kendrick Lamar – Good kid Maad City’. He was my favorite artist at the time so I was so excited, I remember playing it till my parents would complain.

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

Kyro: Its hard, At the moment im at college studying to become an software engineer while still try to get my music perfect. Because of that I haven’t really had a normal teenage life like going parties etc. But I know that hard work pays off so I don’t like to complain.
