Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

KING X : I grew up in Montgomery, Alabama. Ive always had an ear toward music with growing up in a church. i played the piano for the choir so i have a test for gospel as well as hip hop.

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

KING X : For a while i couldnt release any music due to the fact i had no stage name. i wanted to find a name that showed both a soft side and rough side because my mothers side of the family is more religious based and my fathers being more tuned to the streets and blocks. Therfore “KING’ is from Martin Luther King Jr and “x” is for Malcome X.

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

KING X : Always, We live in a world were technology takes apart in everything. if i were to sell my music fans would find a way to get it free. Most artist get paid off of Tours and show ect. and thats my plan.

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

KING X : Im not in possition to give advice to an area i still need information in. Although, you never know what’ll work unless u try it.

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

KING X : I try not to force anything. I keep my phone by me to jot down a bar each time i think of one. If i hear a good song that gives me inspriration then i write as much as i can while i have the groove. I usually get inspiration from my father challenging me.

Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

KING X : I use Soundcloud but not as much as i use Youtube.

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

KING X : Id probably have four albums written in that period of time. Id most likley build a studio after buying a modern home.

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

KING X : Im honestly still learning ways to further promotion. the method i use at the moment is to share them on my social media.

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

KING X : I actually am working on five projects at once. I cant wait to release them when the time is right. I want my music to give u various expressions of amazment.

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

KING X : Art most likley. And i thik even then id still be addicted to music.

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

KING X : By not forcing everything, i try not to feel like im working whenever i make music whether that be producing a beat or writing music.

Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?

KING X : New projects soon and singles. Expect a calm yet lit feeling.
