Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Alright so I grew up in Madison Heights, Michigan. It’s a suburb of Detroit. Maybe just a few miles away. I decided to become an Artist when I was 14 rapping under the name of K Silver.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Haha, I came up with the name “Kid Platinum” in 2015. I used to be K Silver when I was with Black Bird Records a small label. When they went under, I started to mature as an artist. I came up with Kid Platinum because it’s just original which is huge. You never see originality in the Game anymore.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Definitely. Dude, music is an art. People enjoy Art. I enjoy art. I’ll give my music away so people can enjoy it. If it comes to making money off it, I will but like right now my music is totally free for the people to enjoy.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Honestly it’s just hard work. you will never get famous over night. you have to literally work yourself to the core. Man I’m up late a lot working on my flow, my lyrics, studying every artist who inspires me to push forward. You have to know people too. Get a small following and many more will come, man. you see what i’m saying?
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
Song writing comes easy to me. Words get stuck in my head. I have a lot of shit that has happened to me in my life. Hip Hop is like a journal for me, and I’ll write about some hype shit, chill shit or depressing shit. it really depends on my mood though.
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
Artist: Nah no website yet, I actually have plans to make some stuff to brand myself as an artist. I do share my Music on Sound Cloud and YouTube.
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
Being a guy who hasn’t had money like that before and who has had to work for every dollar he’s got, I’d say i’d just put it away or invest in a Studio and some nice equipment.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
I post my tracks on Twitter, and I’ll go out into public doing freestyles and talk to people. I’m pretty extroverted so it comes natural to me.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
I’m working on a mix tape “the underground.” which should be dropping in April or May. I am talking to my boy who makes beats and makes his stuff sound professional. You never know what would be popping.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Man I’m an Entertainer, I do it all right now as it is, Professional Wrestling, Acting, Music. Anything I can do to entertain, I’ll do it. There’s nothing I can’t do. I have a backup plan for everything.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
When you want something, you make time.
