Exposed Vocals Interviews Jasmin Stone
Jasmin Stone, a “synth girl”, known mostly as a theatre & film-composer, a keyboard player and a songwriter – but also runs a solo career , loved by the critics. Among her achievements – ACUM award twice,
“Album of the year” by CUBE MAGAZINE and other grants and prize
( an award from “Hollywood International Independent Documentary Awards” for best score).
In 2014, Jasmin Stone won in a song-competition, in which the main judge was Danton Supple (the wellknown producer from UK – Coldplay, Morrissey and many others ).
The prize was that Supple will produce Jasmin’s winning song…
Supple said: “Working with Jasmin was great. Such a gentle, unusual tone and melodies. She’s happy to play with sounds to create an atmosphere to suit her story. Her debut international release, “Time” was an incredibly challenging and rewarding experience. It has a mixture of the old and new and something fairytale like about its sound.”
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Jasmin: I was born in Holon. It’s a lovely town near TLV, with a lot of green spaces. Many rock groups came from here. I’ve never decided to be a musician – it just happened….when I was 4
I began to play a little organ – and never stopped since then 🙂
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Jasmin: “Echoes” are fragments of a faraway voice.. It continues the names of my previous albums: “Fragments” and “Whispers” . They are all small pieces of something. Clues .
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Jasmin: The internet is very good for musicians. The net is like a long street full of artists , everybody can see and discover them. I think it’s right to give your music for free sometimes, because it’s a giving that will be returned to you, somehow, from another place. Like every giving.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Jasmin: Ok, I have some tips: Listen as much as possible to music from all genres. Develop your own sound and musical language. Cooperate with other artists. Work in every kind of musical job that you’re able to. Go to a music school to meet people and grow with them. Be friendly:)
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
Jasmin: I love to be faraway from everything. Piece and quiet. Then I start writing – lyrics apart and music apart – and then mix up between them. Usually, I already think about the musical production while composing…
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
Jasmin: I have a website for the new E.P. (5 songs). Meanwhile here is the first single “TIME” – hope very much people will love it !!

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
Jasmin: I would invest them well, so in a year I’ll have the other half too :)) And then spend it…..
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Jasmin: I try to think about original ways to do this, it’s not easy. Sometimes need help from other people…
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Jasmin: Last years, I composed music for doco films and for theatre. Now I am working on 2 new films.

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Jasmin: I like to draw comics and make fun from everything possible 🙂
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
Jasmin: Fortunately, music is my profession and I don’t have other jobs.. I have a nice list with all the duties and “missions” and I try to do everything on time. In other words: I work very hard, day and night if needed.. Pray god to be healthy an to go on.
