Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
J ADI: I was born in Mowbury,Cape Town,South Africa and we moved to Paarl when I was still a baby and here I grew up most of my life. It was untill I reached high school, grade 9 were the music journey started with a simple small guitar that my friend played and I just started free styling to the sound of the guitar.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
J ADI: My name was a bit of a hustle I think, but it came to me under consideration that adidas was a part of my life and clothing style, so I thought why don’t you combine the style of your music with the style of your clothing and with something from your first name, so I came up with ‘J ADI’ a name that represent me as a whole.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
J ADI: Online music sharing is great for exposing and yeah I share my music online for free to get that fan base up and running and for more exposal.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
J ADI: First thing they sould know is that everybody started at the bottom and that they sould never give up, secondly is to make use of the web and social networks like facebook, twitter, google plus etc. Thirdly offer to do shows and gigs for free just to expose yourself and eventually someone will notice you. Just give it some time,good things comes to tho’s who wait
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
J ADI: My inspiration comes from the people who don’t believe that I’m gonna make it but I prove them wrong everytime I’m in studio dropping a new track and I’m still gonna prove them wrong with every follower I get, I don’t see my enemies as enemies I see them as instruments of learning and that’s where my inspiration comes from.
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
J ADI: Honestly I would give 10 persent of it to charity and use the rest of the money to expand my brand as an artist.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
J ADI: The best way for me is facebook. They have millions of users daily active where you can post ads about your brand and they can share, like and comment in one place which makes facebook so effective in promoting.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
J ADI: Yes, me and my team are gonna host Paarl’s biggest music show ever where we showcase not only ourselves, but all of Paarl’s artists waiting to be heard.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
J ADI: Honestly, I really don’t know music is what I enjoy most, but if I could teach instruments, it would be the closest atleast.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
J ADI: I plan ahead and like every artist sould do I schedule everything so that I don’t loose track of time and fall behind on things that is of most importance and the important things I always give attention to first, that’s how I do it.
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?
J ADI: The launching of my album Diamond Black that’s the main thing right now…
