Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
HUNO RACKZ: MY NAME IS HUSSEIN ABDULLAHI, born in Africa, parents struggled to come to the land of the free, came here when I was younger than a preschooler, mostly all my life raised in America, speak English well cause of it! I grew in the streets of Porrlands, I know it like a mapper, everyday is a battle, parents, kid, fathers, all that gotta struggle to survive, ain’t nobody feeding us! In other words you can’t depend on other people to always feed you, cause once you turn 18 you outside straight homeless cause you been depending on other people that are working for their passion!
Listening to all type music, from people with different, views & experiences around the world, made me write about mine!
One of my favorite artist Sumo inspired me in his songs!
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
HUNO RACKZ: The first initial of my name which begins with the letter “H” for Hussein & the uno for 1 put it together Huno!
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
HUNO RACKZ: Yes I would give my music away for free so I can be heard by people all over the earth on their devices!
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
HUNO RACKZ: You shouldn’t ever give up, or stop making your music, the lack of time you waste not doing music the more your verses as bein lyrical with a good vocabulary slang go away, the more you do music the better you get at it! Science teachers always said repetition is something easy to master! Even if your not a big or know that shouldn’t make you stop your music! The goal is my fame the goal is to let your voice heard out their music connects with other people life’s, learn something new when you listen to song!
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
HUNO RACKZ: I gather sound writing from my experiences, struggles that I face, Portland streets, my city, basically I freestyle or rap about my life! Mind always rushing with things turned it into verse with lyrical purposes, inspritaion is all around us, everybody got their own way of getting inspired to something!
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
HUNO RACKZ: I use to soundcloud & twitter to share my music, & make it on laptops! Don’t have no website!
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
HUNO Rackz: I would spend it wisely, and double up the amount I got at first experience! I would buy all my little sisters things daddy never came up with, buy momma a car, lived her life full without learning to drive, pay for better apartments to stay or home environment theirs a lot you can do with a million!
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
HUNO RACKZ: I don’t go fare promoting my music, it’s just get played by people in the city that know me, that felt what I felt being in the streets, basically facebook fans & people I know, other then that I don’t know no big promotor in my city, theirs no big music fans that come here often like other cities!
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
HUNO RACKZ: I got a couple songs 3 are out only, so in the meantime I’ll be trying to drop them on soundcloud my username on soundcloud is RastaRackz or you can search HUNO Rackz! I wanna talk about finding a better place to rap an actual studio I’ll go off but until then I’ll keep dropping!
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
HUNO RACKZ: I’m be honest if I wasn’t making music I just feel in love with freestyling & song writing the beginning of this year! If I wasn’t with music, I’d probably be shot up in the streets or be on it ready to get locked or deceased by haters! Life tough, every corner it wanna throw something at you!
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
HUNO RACKZ: Multitasking you know, growing up you got responsibilities, you gonna be doing things you thought you wouldn’t & still be waking up in the mornin for that school bus, when it ain’t getting you nowhere!
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?
HUNO RACKZ: Fans should look forward to me, coming out with a lot of music 2k16, my name or anything ain’t buzzing yet, at the end something will ring me, hopefully!
