Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

 

I grew up in 26 different homes. My mom moved everywhere and I came along. She passed away when I was 11 years old. I grew up around gang members and my step dad was a gang member. I want to make a lot of money and let people hear my story so I started writing just about a month ago and already have made 10 songs.

 

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

 

I just felt HansTheRapper was a cool name because my last name is Hansen. Chance the rapper was also an inspiration behind it.

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

 

I think it’s awesome because of how big the worldwide web is and it’s a good way to get other people to listen to my music. And yes I would. I just want people to hear my story and my music.

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

Just keep your head up and keep going. Wen your feeling down about your music, just stay calm and keep writing cause your going to get it eventually.

 

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

 

I usually just try and go along with the beat. I also reflect on my past and try to get my story out in different words and phrases. It’s a long process but with time put it in anything is possible.

Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

 

I don’t have a website I just have soundcloud and Twitter and YouTube I prefer to share my music with.

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

 

I would take my girl and my son on vacation and I would keep writing and making music. Eventually id get a home with a nice recording studio in it. I want to see the world.

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

 

I just use soundcloud, Twitter and YouTube and tell my friends about it.

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

 

I got a new upcoming project on the way. I always stay busy. This is a new talent I found and I’m sticking with it until it pays off eventually.

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

 

I would probably be stressing and in jail. I use music as a way to escape reality. It keeps at my most calm state.

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

 

I just make time. You got to in this industry. Never step down on making music. Just let it come to you and let it flow. I work my full time job and stay up late at night when I have time off.

Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?

 

more songs and a better flow. I want to get my rap flow down to the tea eventually. And of course make even better music than I already am now.
