Exposed Vocals: How did you hear about Exposed Vocals? What made you decide to sign up?

Godlips: heard about Exposed vocals on social medias, decided to sign up because it looked cool

Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

Godlips: we are both born in south of France in a town called Toulon. We decided to form Godlips two years ago as we were both musicians since 10 years. Music has always been very important to us and we can’t live without it.

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

Godlips: to tell you the truth it was a choice by chance, and we thought it sounded cool, there is no particular reason for this choice except it was not already chosen by other bands .

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

Godlips: Yeah, we often give our music away for free as we know that people are used to listening to tracks without paying for them. We offer our remixes and we get our original tracks signed on labels as it increases credibility for the artists.

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

Godlips: Make a lot of music, never stop making music. The more you make, the better it will sound, and the better it sounds, bigger the chances a booker or a tour manager will notice you.

Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?

Godlips: we try to prepare our shows very seriously so we make no mistakes during them. Fortunately it never happened !

Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?

Godlips: Yeah we play in festivals during the summer, and we love that. The coolest thing about touring is to meet new people and make the crowd discover our music. Plus the free beer and food is awesome too.

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

Godlips: it’s kind of unusual for an electronic duo but we often gather inspiration as we go fishing. We are in love with the sea and we like to see it the most possible so we are boosted to go back in the studio and produce with our mind in peace.

Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

Godlips: We have a soundcloud page as many other electronic artists and a Facebook fan page as well.

Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?

Godlips: nothing really embarrassing in our MP3 players, some rock n roll and even some good hip hop too. But we admit we love to party and dance on some old 80’s songs with our friends haha.

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

Godlips: would buy a bigger boat and go more fishing, and then make more music as we have both a regular job despite our musical career.

Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?

Godlips: we have the luck to have some very good monitoring and an awesome studio that we share with one of our Dj / producer friend. We work on ableton live as many other producers, and we even have a big flat tv with a ps4 for the times we prefer chilling. Perfect place for young men !

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

Godlips: we have a good manager which contacts every blog when we release new music and he does a great job. It’s a job that you can’t do as a producer as it takes a lot of time.

Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?

Godlips: we love Dillon Francis and Diplo, it would be awesome to play on the same stage and party with them in the backstage !

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

Godlips: we are constantly producing new music and we will continue to release new tracks, that’s our principal project

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

Godlips: we would be working in the music in the music industry as we can’t do anything else

Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head ?

Godlips: it was a guns n roses album, “use your illusion” the best album ever to me !

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

Godlips: we have very comprehensive bosses and girlfriends that let us take as much time we need to make music (cheers baby !)

Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?

Godlips: New original tracks and banger remixes, 2016 will be a productive year for us !
