I go by the rap name Fullclip, I was born on the east coast and moved to Broward County in South Florida when I was about 13 years old. I’ve been rapping for fun since I was about 10 years old but was obviously not old enough to take the rap game seriously. Moving to South Florida not only changed my sound, but the level I wanted to take rap. I met my partner Rekez in 2013 and we decided it was time to start laying tracks down even if it were only for fun. Being raised in the northern part of the east coast, originally I drew my musical influences from artists like Tribe Called Quest, Wu Tang (especially Method Man), Fabolous, and Biggie but moving down south and exploring music a lot more I find that their underground scene is where it’s at and I hope to bring a perfect unique mix of east coast boombap and dark themed down south rap.
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Fullclip: I was born in a town called Norwich in Connecticut and moved to Broward County in South Florida at the beginning of my teen years. I had always grown up just rapping for fun with my friends when we would hangout and always got compliments here and there, but didn’t really decide to take it all too seriously until I was still getting complimented when I would spit a freestyle at a party or something. I found a close homeboy in Florida who I felt could keep up with me. Fullclip and Rekez was born.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Fullclip: Haha, it’s actually a not so funny story. We had recorded our first “song” if you could even call it that (I had no idea how to produce or edit any kind of vocals so we never even dropped it) and were trying to come up with stage names. Rekez rap name is just a play on his actual last name and happens to sound a lot like “records” and “wreck it” so it stuck. I was actually debating on going with a “Yung” or “Lil” prefix and “Yung Fullclip” came up and we decided to go with it. The MAIN inspiration came from my ability to flow on beats endlessly and with a faster cadence, I guess you would say? Also it sounds kind of tough.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Fullclip: We fully support it. At this point we’re only concerned with letting our music keep our “fans” entertained, and networking so that our music can be heard by others. I’m sure if this rap stuff works, at some point we’ll charge…but to be honest as far as i’m concerned this is for fun and fans. For now, everything we release is 100% free and will start being posted on our soundcloud at http://soundcloud.com/trxppy with a download link. Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Fullclip: Network, network, network. If you really want to start taking your music seriously, the best advice I can give you is to network. People seriously underestimate the power of a collective….and yes, this means sometimes being that annoying friend who spams your soundcloud links around. Make sure you also have an idea on at least how to book gigs, sign up for events, etc. before you just dive in head first clueless. Never forget to love your art, either.
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
Fullclip: Not really sure if i’m allowed to say this, but most of my inspiration for wanting to jump in the studio and rap for my life comes from sitting with Rekez in the car, smoking a blunt or 2…or 6…it just relaxes me and my creativity flows at it’s peak. I’m also at my most likely to come off the hip with a super savage bar without a care given to the world. A lot of what my sound aims to be is heavily influenced by emcees like Earl Sweatshirt, Denzel Curry, Danny Brown, Pro Era, elements from all of the underground’s heavy hitters rolled into 1….or 2 in this case. Haha
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
Fullclip: Soundcloud and Twitter are our go to platform, we promote on Facebook but that’s usually in a personal message manner to friends we want actual feedback from. Youtube is also a brand new platform we’ve decided to go through.

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
Fullclip: I’d probably buy like 2 lbs of dank, a ton of studio time, and just record song after song so that I could steadily release my catalog and turn that year off into about 18 months off. Haha
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Fullclip: I post it almost everywhere I can. Facebook, Soundcloud, Twitter, now Youtube. We’ve also linked up with another Broward based artist named Sen$ei Doublecup and he helps us do a fair amount of promotion and we might even have a secret collab planned for sometime in the near future with a bigger name…..
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Fullclip: I just dropped a snippet of a freestyle that I did in 1 take that went pretty hard, we’re gonna drop the full song as soon as we feel like it’s being anticipated a little bit more, then immediately after that (maybe even before), me and Rekez have a collab with a big name in SoFlo right now on the agenda. I can’t say much of it yet because it’s not 100% cement, but it’s going to be GNARLY. After that we should have the EP (tentatively titled “10 a g: neurotics and narcotics”)
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Fullclip: Probably everything else i’ve been doing besides music: school, work, girlfriend, smoke. My life isn’t complicated. I am amused by the little things. Music is immense fun for us right now and I can’t imagine what else i’d take up to fill that space.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
Fullclip: Fortunately for us right now, music isn’t suffocating us and taking up 90% of my life. It’s still easy to juggle it all, knock on wood. Just need a grip on priorities and what not, if I had to guess?
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?
Fullclip: If all goes well, MORE MUSIC! This feature should make some waves and establish us on the food chain and then the “Neurotics and Narcotics” EP by the start of Summer as a follow up to keep everyone with us, definitely. After that, if we’re still going strong we’ll give everyone a full on mixtape by the end of Summer. ThisIsOnlyTheBeginning.
