Jens Schaffrath had an Affinity for Experimental or Electronic Music in childhood. While other Children were playing in the Sandbox, he listened to the Vinyl’s of his Father, with Music by Jean Michel Jarre, Allen Parson Project, and another, until he was given his first Keyboard at its 8 Birthday. Together with his Brother he played every Day. In 1988 he discovered a new Music that his Brother who worked at that time as a DJ brought: the first House and Techno Vinyl’s. Time to get Mind changing. He gathered only a few old turntables and mixed them into his room together. A few years later, he hung up the birthday parties of his friends until he got his first computer. Together with some friends he built his first sound itself, and record the first tracks. This was followed by a couple of appearances in the Legendary Club Palazzo-, and on privately organized parties. 2002 Modular sound concept originated. His first Experience in the Direction of Music publishing, he gained with his first Album “Beyond a Heavens Gate” as well as several EPs on the Creative Commons label ” Gleichtakt”. Now, 5 years later, after a creative break, he returns as Ethan Suma and STR-REC was together with
Exposed Vocals: How did you hear about Exposed Vocals? What made you decide to sign up?

Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Ethan Suma:
I had an Affinity for Experimental or Electronic Music in childhood. This was followed by a couple of appearances in the Legendary German Club calls “Palazzo”-, and on privately organized parties. 2002 “Modulares Klang Konzept” originated. My first Experience in the Direction of Music publishing, i gained with my first Album “Beyond a Heavens Gate” as well as several EPs on the Creative Commons label “Gleichtakt”. Now, 5 years later, after a creative break, I come back as Ethan Suma,build together with Suesann our Label “STR-REC” to release our definition of Trance,Techno and some kind of Electronic Music.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Ethan Suma:
Suma is a Tribute to my Friends, that have make STR possible. It’s a shortcut from “Suesann and Maria” and then I needed a forename…and, I like the name Ethan… simple story
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Ethan Suma:
My First Releases was for Free on the German CC-Label “Gleichtakt”
In the Future, we want to give our Fans some Specials for free .
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Ethan Suma:
Extreme important: Never give up! And, never give up your Love to the Music for Money!
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
Ethan Suma:
Mistakes are humanly. Otherwise we would been Robots.
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?

Ethan Suma:
Its very unprompted. I play some riffs or cords, an then I come in a flow, houres later it makes sense . 😉

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
Ethan Suma: Good Question. I would upgraded my Studio, I Think

Ethan Suma:
Actualy I work with Cubase and some Tanoy Monitors. I want to Buy a Tyrus in the Future.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Ethan Suma:
We promote with Facebook, Youtube and Twitter. I streaming live productions of my tracks on twitch.
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?

With Jean-Michel Jarre and Cosmic Gate together 1 Week in a Studio! Jackpott!

I worked on my next Album to Release on STR REC. we planning some Collab with some good Guys.
