Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

 

Edith Encalada: I grew up in Mérida Yucatán México. I started singing since I was six years old.

 

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

 

Edith Encalada: It´s my real name so I really like it.

 

 

 

 

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

 

Edith Encalada: I think it´s a good way to share your music with the public and to let them know about you. I do it with a few of my songs in my website www.edithencalada.com

 

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

Edith Encalada: Have to be prepare for each moment, and the preparation is made by the study, discipline and the practice.

 

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

 

Edith Encalada: With my own love story or my break up romances. I just write about it with rhymes and rhythm and then I record it.

 

Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

 

Edith Encalada: Yes, my website is: www.edithencalada.com and I use Facebook fan page and twitter.

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

 

Edith Encalada: I would like to buy a house and to make a music studio to record my albums. I would like to help the poor people specially the children in my country and in Mali.

 

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

 

Edith Encalada: Through my website and in local TV programs in Cancun the city where I´m living now, some newspapers help me with the promotion of my musical career so Im grateful with them.

 

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

 

Edith Encalada: I will have some concerts here in Cancun, the next one will be in May 10th to celebrate mother’s day, I’m going to sing with the “Mariachi because I really enjoy to sing with them. https://t.co/lRoqW3wPqo

And I´m preparing a presentation with a friend Edward Salles he is a singer too and we are preparing a “Duet” show, it will be a performance with 12 international duet songs. (Celine Dion & Pavarotti, Andrea Bocelli etc.)

 

 

 

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

 

Edith Encalada: Writing books.

 

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

 

Edith Encalada: I organize my time. I go every morning to the gym for excercise, then I prepare my musical shows 12 to 2pm and then I take the meal with my family and I take care of my daughter the rest of the day.

 

Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?

 

Edith Encalada: More musical shows and a big surprise!
