Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Hi my name is Deforeyea Walker known by my stage name Dussay i was born in Charlotte NC I grew up poor and without a mom or dad.I really didnt have any father figures to look up to or mothers to talk to me so I kind of did my own thing out in the streets.I started doing music after my grand father James died when i was 6 years old.Rapping was my way of escaping all of my pain and opening my heart up to myself.I never trust anybody so that also play apart in why i opened up to myself.I was raised in Belmont the north side of Charlotte.I didnt have alot of friends due to being stabbed in my back and I feel people not being as real as me,But as far as my friends I do have they know how much this rapping is to me.But to me its more than rapping its pretty much story telling.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
What made me come up with the name Dussay I pretty much got it when Jay Z came out with his cognac called dusse and i pretty much took dusse and actually spelled it how it was pronounce.My inspiration behind it is that it isnt any nobody with the name dussay so I have to make the best out of it and by that i mean not stopping until Dussay is named one of the best artist in the game.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
What i think about online music sharing is the best move you can ever make it saves alot of time because you dont have to buy banners and physical CDs which cost tons of money that upcoming artist such as myself dont have.I am a artist so i produce alot of music and i can really care less about receiving money from my albums right now.I have gave away free EP and Mixtapes i also gave away free albums because im here to build a fanbase not to make a profit I mean ill be glad to take the money but i dont release albums and expecting and income.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
I can give local or start up artist some good tips.
Rule number 1 remember that professionalism is key in getting notice dont nobody want to review crappy covers and dont nobody want to review crappy recordings.
Rule number 2 never jump the gun everybody has their breaking point patience is key in getting a fanbase most of the time reason why people fail is because they lack patience.
Rule number 3 get involve with every artist in the city make a buzz together because labels love teamwork they love features
Rule number 4 Build your social media(twitter,facebook,instagram etc)
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
Before I go in on a song I just flow with the beat and I try different approaches and different flows.I decide if I need to get lyrical love song or about my life.Then by that time I have it and I just go in.

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
I would put my grand mother in a house because i promise her to take her out the ghetto then after that I would take 250,000 and invest in apple,build stores,make clothing lines,and buy a franchizee from mcdonalds.And pretty much save the other 250k and treat it like im broke.
Exposed vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
I find ways to promote my music through twitter and facebook and most of the time promoters and Djs will contact me telling me what they have to offer and can my next project be promoted by them and things in that nature.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
I would like to talk about my “Appreciation” and “NoDealNeeded” Appreciation is basically a project I recently released and where I take other artist hot singles and murder the song first name that come to mind is “Lil Wayne” Well no not necessarily “Dussay” I will make the new trademark that anything you can do I can do better im not knocking Lil Wayne he is my most favorite Its just he has to stop or slow down one day and when he do fans will think of me and its like they still have that music they were craving.NoDealNeeded is a project where I tell a story basically my life in chronological order and talk about my success without a deal.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
If I wasnt making music I honestly dont know what ill do music is my life this is how i cope and how i get through my day but reality I would have to settle for a job to still get the bills paid and keep money in my pocket.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
I tie everything around my music everybody i associate with know my music comes first because im not just your local rapper im an artist im your child favorite rapper im that artist that made it from nothing,So I pretty much tie everything around my music
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?
Fans should look forward to me taking off this year last year was kind of a downslide because I was in jail so i couldnt do anything and its like now im just finishing up what I started last year so i have a late take off but soon this year you will see Dussay go viral and im pretty sure you know this already
