Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Daxton: I was born & raised on the East Coast of Australia on the Central Coast in 1972.Lots of beaches and sunshine roughly a hour away from Sydney City.I first picked up the guitar when I was thirteen and had just started lessons, at that time I was just introduced to punk Music as-swell as listening to the Sex Pistols, The Vandal, MC5 and what was on the radio at that time.
Daxton:
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
I was born with that name it comes from The Daxton Lake in Meeker County, Minnesota, United States
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Daxton:
I try to sell my music I love what I do and to be able to do it for a living is fantastic after the cost in production like.(e.g) albums, film clips, basically; it’s on you in the end so don’t be afraid to push your music in the right areas.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Daxton:
try to book ad-least three to four shows before getting any airplay, if your looking for a record deal go for a smaller company that gives you the freedom to write, record and publish your songs.
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
Daxton:
sometimes the chorus comes first or maybe the music I don’t really have a set way it’s a creative thing I guess
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

I use reverbnation, facebook, twitter for my solo stuff

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
Daxton:
I’d have to say time to write more material and tour because it wouldn’t take long to waste it on blow haha
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Daxton:
I promote my show with posters on-line feed, radio stations and text messages anyway that I can
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Daxton:
I have three new projects, I am in a band named the sweetlips a grunge/stoner band and another band named burning arrows:
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Daxton:
I played in-house Ice hockey for five years, I probably would have focused all my energy on that.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
Daxton:
Not easy, my situation has changed dramatically in the past year I now play three or four shows a week and travel long periods of time
I write music when I am at home I also play covers and my bands original music. I feel like I am split into three different characters. when I am home I clean a lot and cook.
