Exposed Vocals Interviews DANETRONIC
Hugh-Dane Jovan Walsh is a senior at Starr’s Mill high school. He loves the drama department and did his first musical last year called the Addams Family. Because of the musical, he went to his first Shuler Hensley Awards for winning best showstopper with the Addams Family. He played Delightful in the recent play called Dearly Departed last year and this year he was Coach Cassius in the production Shooting Star. He is friendly, funny, and very enjoyable to be around with. He will be graduating in 2016 and would like to go to Georgia State or Columbus State university. His love for theatre has grown over the years and he is willing to do everything he can to become a great actor one day.
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
DANETRONIC : I grew up in Peachtree city, Atlanta Georgia and I decided to become an artist because I wanted to put my music out there to show people my style of dubstep/electronic music. Also, to help and support my family to a better life. I have a God-given talent and feel it’s time to show the world what I can do.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
DANETRONIC : Well “Dane” is part of my first name Hugh-Dane and Tronic represents electronic music which is my favorite genre. I didn’t really have an inspiration behind the name.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
DANETRONIC : online sharing is a good way to get music out there and my music is on YouTube and soundcloud free anyway.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
DANETRONIC : Be true to your music and never let anyone change your style of music
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
DANETRONIC : My music is all instrumental, so I sit in front of my piano and play random notes. It sounds silly, but eventually I catch a catchy tune and start to build up the song. Now there are times when I make a song and I don’t feel that it’s a great song whether I’m in the middle of the project or finished, so I sometimes delete songs. However, a great song do come around.
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
DANETRONIC : I use sound cloud and YouTube to share my music.
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
DANETRONIC : I would give my family a vacation for working so hard, buy equipment for a music studio, and the rest to save.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
DANETRONIC : I’ve never promoted my music before. If anything just a shoutout to check my songs out on YouTube.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
DANETRONIC : My next project is gonna be an electric genre and maybe some hip hop favor to it.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
DANETRONIC : Honestly, my primary goal in life is to be an actor and doing films. Making music is a foundation to lead me up to that dream. Making music is also a hobby of mine, so acting would be something I’d be doing if I weren’t making music.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
DANETRONIC : I would work on my songs at night sometimes late at night, so I can separate the stuff that needs to get done during the day. If I have time during the day, then I will work on music.
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?
DANETRONIC : A new artist in the music world.
