Am Okeke Valentine by real name and my stag name is chealpounds, am from Nigeria and i live here in Osun state. am 21years of Age.am slim build , mentally stable, physically fit, a bunch of laughs, warm, caring, honest, good listening, God Fearing, and a positive person.I am real easy person to talk to and a good listener. I love to play I enjoy chilling with my friend/family , I like going to the movies , or watching movies in my room , I like swimming , listening to music and dance to any kind of music, travelling , going bowling and .I am a family oriented person and here is more i have dark black hair and black eye.well i started my song from when i was still a kids that was in Abuja and i have work no 3songs now,still in studio work on a new trick again something i go out for show to perform this all i can say about me from now. you can listen to my songs on(soundcloud.com$dreammy.com) check on micheal valentine then you will see more all of my song..hope to hear back from you
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Chealpounds: well i grow up at Lagos and what really made me decide to become an artist is that am good in singing and also i love songs and people also do tell me that what i can do most is singing because am good in it and i believe with that i can be who i want to be a great artist.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Chealpounds: well i come with that name cheal true my other name Micheal i took away the MIC and leave the other Cheal as my stage name and when i perform on a caniver show here in osun state where i stay for now.on that day was a great day with friends as after the show when i came down from the stage one of my friends now call me the name chealpounds add pounds to it so. i heard the name and love it that way.so since then i change it from cheal to Chealpounds.My inspiration behind it is great really because thinking of that name Chealpounds is great to me that why
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Chealpounds : I think online music sharing is great to connect your talent and music with others but I would never give my music away for free because I am a artist and the Music you write should be part of you and so why give part of my life away
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Chealpounds: At the moment I have also just started up. My advice is to make sure you have your album at least lyrically written in rough at the least and find a song with the most emotion to take to a music studio. Before you take it to a music studio make sure you phone around and find someone who understands your vision and you can connect with through talking to them this will help with getting the best results for your song. After your song is made get on the radios around and get your song more well known. If your a band you shouldn’t have a problem getting a gig once it is played on tv radio and is on internet just make sure you phone around bars and places with stages to ask for gig’s. If your a solo artist then my advice would be to make sure that you gig when you have a full album of songs done so that you can make use of that time that you are given in airtime or gigging
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
Chealpounds: well i gather songwritting inspiration my self like how thing go around me and the kind of mood am into when am singing. my usual songwritting is all about love and life style what goes around in street
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
Chealpounds: I dont have a band website as I am a solo artist and am still working on my first album so a website is a bit pointless ATM. I use YouTube, facebook, twitter dreammy.org and soundcloud
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
Chealpounds: wow that a lot of money and i think what i have to do with that money is to find a way to invest It into my music career and give some money for my rest future
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Chealpounds: well i find a ways to promote my music though on-line share .i think that work best for me so i can be well knowing not only my friend but with people out for the world so think with that i can be what i think i want to be
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Chealpounds: i cant say for now but am thinking of working on my video stuff for my song sisEko i love that song so i want to work on that
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Chealpounds: acting films i love the both i love to be see on tv world world as someone because that the best i do when am in school i sing for friends and i also art dream in school i just love to be called what i mean a great people
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
Chealpounds: i dont have any responsibilities but do things at the right time so i can have time for my music life
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?
Chealpounds: Oh my fans should look forward on me because this 2016 i will make out my album Which I am hoping it will be out before December this year but I would say to look out for some incredible talent and to make sure that you support all talent and their efforts towards music
