Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Carbon Sound: Born and raised in small town Collingwood, Ontario, Canada, ’bout 2 hours north of Toronto, I’ve been surronded by musicians and artists my whole life. It’s a tourist town, having Blue Mountain 5 min to the West and Wasaga Beach 15 min the the East, it’s music food and entertainment all year ’round. Having started music and art so young in school it’s carried on as a solid hobby. I’m a soon to be papered Chef and part time Engineer (major tinker’er and lover of physics) lol.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Carbon Sound: Carbon is one major element in life’s structure. My life would have no structure without music.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Carbon Sound: Well, I’ve DL’d enough stuff over the years for ‘free’ (before it became massively illegal), it’s only fair I let some stuff go.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Carbon Sound: Get out there. Network and show yourself off. Spend money on Promo’s, it pays off. (And CAN be cheap)
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
Carbon Sound: I get a lot of inspriation from the vibes around me. People inspire me. My process?? lol I usually start around 4:20 everyday…..
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
Carbon Sound: Probably invest. Invest in my label and music and probably take this all a bit more seriously.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Carbon Sound: Simple little steps. I’m not trying to rush or promo anything drastic.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Carbon Sound: Soon I’ll be collaborating with several different artists on tracks and maybe producing a couple EP’s.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Carbon Sound: Please forgive my rashness but, I’d be in a coffin. Music has always been a large part of my soul.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
Carbon Sound: It just all flows. Some people find their favorite spot at the table or where ever they are, my workspace is my spot if I’m not cooking most of the time lol
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?
Carbon Sound: A lot more diverse music.
