Exposed Vocals: How did you hear about Exposed Vocals? What made you decide to sign up?

Bubulubu:  My boss hit me up one time and he informed me about it. So I didn’t hesitate then just told him am in.

Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

Bubulubu: I grew up at Assakae in the Oil City and it is where I still stay. What made me decide to become artist, I will say beats. Because I love beats and they sound great. And sometimes I wish to say something from my heart to the world. So yeah I saw music to be the only alternative.

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

Bubulubu: Umm Bubulubu simply means unbreakable. In my language its “Ebu a munnbu”. Meaning no matter how hard you try to bring me down, I will still be who I am. And you know I believe in only one thing and that is in this world you the only source of your own happiness apart from God. So I sat and thought of something that will always give me the zeal to do more and that was it.

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

Bubulubu: I think it’s cool because as an upcoming at point in time you realize others you have to send you music out there and sharing your music online it the best idea. Oh yeah, I give them out for free for now. You know as a random artist you have try your possible best to be well recognized in the system before any other move comes in mind. As for money, I think it’s a plus. Hard work is the ultimate

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

Bubulubu: All I have to say is you just do your best and leave the rest to God. And always stay clean
 
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
 
Bubulubu: Of course. You know being creative does not mean you are perfect. So yeah I take my mistakes as a new style then continue from there. You know, no football team expects to lose a match or play a penalty at the end of match. But when it comes, they play and what next? They move on.
 
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
 
Bubulubu: Uhmm, I have not embarked on any tour since. But yeah I do travel to play shows. What I find interesting? I will say the fans. Sometimes I am new to them but after performing two to three songs they just move along with me. So it always fun when I perform to new people
 
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
 
Bubulubu: On the streets. Its sound funny but that is the truth. As I said earlier I love to hear beats. And where I happened to live is a kind of noisy place so as I walk through the street I hear a lot of music play and then I also try to create something out of what I hear. I write as the beats play.

Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

Bubulubu:  No for now. For free platforms AudioMack, Revebnation, Upload Africa and Hulkshare. And there are others which I pay to get my music uploaded. Others to freely upload them for me.

Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?

Bubulubu: Embarrassing? That’s diffilcult but I will say the ones I did during my early stages. Where I play instrumentals from a different device and sing along whilst recording with another device. I still listen to them though.

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

Bubulubu: Talk of my reaction I think I will be surprised in the first place since I was not expecting that money. Spending it? Change lives. Yeah that’s what I want to do with my music career so the money will aid in doing that.

Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?

Bubulubu: Yeah, Everyone want an upgrade. I am planning of doing a live recording. But now I am working with drum pads and the electronic beats.

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

Bubulubu: The Radio. That is airplay. But more is on the internet. And I think it is the latter that works best for.

Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?

Bubulubu: Location I think the USA. I think the people are music loving people and I like the place as well. Artists I will like to perform with is Yaa Pono from Ghana. He is just my favorite.

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

Bubulubu: A lot. But for now I have two tracks and a video coming. And I will like my fans and the world to anticipate

Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head?

Artist: It’s a shame to say this though. I do listen to singles online. But for an album, I don’t remember purchasing one.

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

Bubulubu: I have a schedule for everyday so before the day ends, I have planned for tomorrow. And if God gives me tomorrow I move on. So it all depends on what God have for me each day.
