Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
BossMike: I Grew Up In Chicago , IL Mostly The Suburbs Calumet City . What Made Me Decide To Be A Artist Was I Always Was Into Music But basketball was my first love but my homies Vontae & JuneBug were artists and I would watch them in the studio making music and I wanted parts but they would never give me a chance until one day I came to Junebug with a beat and he liked it and we made the song O.M.S ( On My Sh*t )
I wrote my whole verse but he did my ad-libs and put the song out and alot of people was feeling it so that made me want to do more songs
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
BossMike :How I came up with BossMike well my first stage name was OtgMike. I felt that I was growing as an artist and it was time to make some moves lol like boss move so I figured why not go by BossMike show of maturity
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
BossMike : I dont have a problem with online sharing. And as far as giving free music lol all my music I put out is free because I feel like I have not reach that level that I want to reach as an artist to charge people for music right now I feel like if you like my music you will like , Share & give feedback but I do plan on putting together something and seeing who would actually buy it
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Artist: My advice is work hard really hard keep sharing your music try to build a network or a brand.And NEVER LET SOMEONE TELL YOU , YOU CANT
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
BossMike : Sometimes it depends on the beat I’m listening to or sometimes it depends on my mood if I’m in a drake mood wanting to write about girls then I’m going to write about the lady’s how beautiful they are and all that. And If I’m In my turn up mood then I’m writing a club banger and then you got the Chicago Music Mood the Chief Keef , Herbo & Bibby it basically depends on how I feel and what picture I’m trying to paint

BossMike: If Was Given Half A Million I Would Buy Mom & Pops A House & Save The Rest for my Sister For College, Mite Get me A Bmw lol But idk About the year off I love music so I’ll be working everyday Because If I take a year off I mite fall behind of everybody

BossMike: I Promote My Music Through Twitter And Facebook , Or Sometimes I Mite Come In Contact With Some Blog Who Would Promote My Music And What Works Best For Me Is Probably Facebook And Twitter Dropping Visuals Cause Now A Days People Watch Visual More Than Audio
