Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Bagel: We grew up in Dallas Texas, where we currently are growing up. We didn’t really know we wanted to make music. It just kind of happened. We made crap music and some people liked it. So it kinda grew on us more than anything.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Bagel: There was no inspiration behind it at all. It was pitched jokingly and we thought it was funny and it sounded great.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Bagel: It’s a great way to share music and get a little more well known. We do give certain songs away for free, because why not? What does it hurt to give your music away? It helps people become more associated with your music.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Bagel: We are still a small band so we don’t really have any tips except share your music, be persistent, show people your music. Make yourself known. Sooner or later people will catch on to you. Just never stop producing music allays show what you got and always make what you want to hear and be.
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
Bagel: We like catchy one liners, and how we come up with our own catchy lyrics is that we sit around and just make jokes and put them into a lyrical form. And sometimes it works, sometimes it sounds bad. In the end it works out and we have great funny songs.
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
Bagel: We don’t have a band website. We have Twitter, soundcloud, and bandcamp. There’s music videos on our YouTube channel. They’re pretty funny.
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
Bagel: We’d probably spend it to make more music. And our time off we’d probably make more music videos and do dumb stuff.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Bagel: Just internet sites. We are persistent with our music sharing. We usually get lucky.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Bagel: We have a new album coming out called Butt, Fuck It. This album we are really trying hard on. It’s gonna be amazing.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Bagel: Making video games probably or even movies. I like creating things more than anything. I want to share my ideas and style with the world.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
Bagel: Usually taking a few hours everyday to work on what needs to get done. Then finishing everything before even working on it.
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?
Bagel: Us releasing our album Butt, Fuck it. And the holiday album we are going to work on. Plus some music videos and random song ideas we just release for the hell of it.
