Who is Alexandra Amor?
Born and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida singer/songwriter Alexandra Amor was first blessed with the opportunity to showcase her musical talents in the mid 2000’s. Making the brave decision to trade in her golf clubs and dreams of LPGA to embark on a career in music at the youthful age of 16 years old, Alexandra Amor signed her first recording contract with indie label Rich Music LTD. Having gained fame as a teenager touring the country promoting her previous pop hit “Radio”, Amor soon realized she was not passionate about the music she was making and asked to be released from her contract.
Free from her contract Alexandra took a chance moving across the country to Los Angeles with her longtime friend and manager, where she has had the opportunity to work with hitmakers, such Micah Powell (Omarion, Sevyn Streeter, Etc), The Stereotypes (The Far East Movement, Justin Bieber, Drake, etc), and famed Dj’s Red Cup Nation to name a few for her upcoming EP “Amor Unplugged.” For the last few years, 21 year old Alexandra Amor has been honing in on her new sound and building her fan base, by sharing covers as well as original music with her fans through her youtube channel where she has collectively generated over 3,000,000 views and 23,000 subscribers. Combining the vocal capability of a Christina Aguilera and Amy Winhouse, along with the raw edginess of Alanis Morissette, Amor is definitely recreating the look and sound of Pop/Soul.
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Alexandra Amor: I grew up in St. Petersburg, Fl with dreams to be on the LPGA. My passion ignited for music when I received the lead role in a school play starting in 8th grade….. there was no greater feeling than the lights and connecting with that audience below. I fell in love with he craft and everything surrounding it.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Alexandra Amor: It’s my birth name, shout out to Moms.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Alexandra Amor: Music sharing is an effective tool to get your fans involved at the touch of a button. It’s phenomenal how this industry has changed from hard copies to online EPs 5$…… its a blessing and a curse for the labels in my opinion.
& Yes, I do give music away occasionally to my dedicated fans – contests,or the track will be temporarily downloadable as a treat. Being this is my business, I also have to remember to keep it fun, and light. You can never loose your passion, my fans are constantly reminding me while being in an industry that can tear you 5 different directions after one meeting.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Alexandra Amor: Set up the tools to succeed in your business then focus all on the music and the fans and shows and being amazing…. but set up your ground work first.
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
Alexandra Amor: Songwriting for me is the truth in which you’re living… it’s a way to express and heal. It’s personal, and i’ve always said as the seasons change so do I…
there isn’t one technique in songwriting, you grasp onto an idea and let it flourish in the mic. It’s a feeling, its a vibe.

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
AlexandraAmor: I would focus on a tour and building my fan base with target marketing online – doing pop up shows and building the brand…. since I have the music already I would ride with what i’ve already spent X amount of money on creating and PUSH it. Once the numbers grow… unlimited possibilities contests for the fans and merchandise options on an upgraded website. Hard copies of the EP. It would be utilized where needed.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Alexandra Amor: I listed my social media above, and while performing… the music speaks for itself.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Alexandra Amor: Yes i’m about to drop #AmorUnplugged EP all very personal records bringing back that POP SOUL vibe….
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Alexandra Amor: I would probably be on the LPGA Tour.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
Alexandra Amor: How? You carry on, just like everyone else. You have to have a strong mentality for anything in this life, you carry on.
