Synikal – Beyond This
Synikal started in mid 2003 with guitarist Tom Wheeler, and singer Pete Garcea. The first CD, “Fallen,” was released in August 2003. This CD did not feature Frankie, the band’s current drummer but did showcase Synikal as a band.
Late August tryouts for a drummer were held with young Frankie Harchut. Frankie proved to bring inspiration to the group; he was brought in without a doubt that he was the perfect drummer for Synikal. Two months later, the band as it exists today started work on the new EP that would bring forth four new songs to the table. Later that year Al would leave the band, and a search for a new bassist would begin. Touring bassist; Larry “tippy” Gunther, would perform with the band as a fill-in bassist. Soon Larry become the newest member of Synikal. Larry would help to write 4 new songs witch showcased Synikal’s new founded talents and creativity at Chicago’s very own Metro.
Synikal has many accomplishments as a band. After only being together for 4 months, Synikal was featured on the popular Chicago radio station 94.7 “The Zone.”
Synikal is currently working with Recording Producer Manny Sanchez on a third EP that will be released in mid/late 2004. This EP will showcase 4 songs (Shut my eyes, On my own, Bleed with me, & Plastik World), this EP will be available all over Chicago and the Midwest at various record stores and venues for free.
