Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

Hemy:

Well I grew up in Argithea,in Athens.There‘s like only sixteen houses here but my best friends and cousins literally live next to me so that’s pretty amazing!
Also music has always been a huge part of my life since I was like two years old.I started writing songs and singing when I was nine.When hard times came music was my savior.And still is.For me is like my private jet.I can escape from the daily pressure I am on with in a minute.Also I want to effect people’s mind with my songs.I am here to talk about pain and hard times and to remind them that they are not alone.I am not here to sing about going to party’s and how to get boys.Youknow what I mean?

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

Hemy:

Haha,ah yes my stage name.Well some good friends of mine came to me at school and they were like “Your name should be Hemy!”.They took from my real name the He (from Helen) and the My is from my lastname.So yeah Christina and Danae thank you guys!

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

Hemy:

Internet is such a strong weapon!So online sharing is very very important.Yes I give away my music for free.I do it because I simply love creating music.And also because the people need to hear you first and after you prove what you are capable of you can start selling.

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

Hemy:

Just work your ass off everyday,every single hour of the day.And trust me the time for you will come.Just stay hungry and everything will come to you.

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

Hemy:

I can be like “Okay let’s write a song!” and the inspiration just comes.Like in two hours I can finish a full song.And also a lot of times the inspiration comes when I sleep.Yeap literally when I sleep.Haha!So I always have pencils and notebooks all around my room.I am just weird like that.

Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

Hemy:

Well mostly I use Twitter and Youtube.But I also use Snapchat,Instagram and Facebook.

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

Hemy:

First I would buy a comfortable house to my parents and then I would give some to charitys.And if I had enough I would buy the new shoes Eminem has create.And no year off for me thank you.I would rather be in the studio for six hours than just be at home away from what I love the most.

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

Hemy:

Support from friends and family is very important because they are like your first fans.Also you know your friends will tell it to they’re friends and it goes on.And again internet.Just keep the balance between those two and everything will be more easy.

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

Hemy:

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

Hemy:

I would probably be an artist.Actually I kinda already am because I draw and paint and my friends take them as portraits etc.They don’t pay me obviously for it.But expect that I think somehow I would be working again on music.

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

Hemy:

I just try to balance everything.It’s not always easy but that’s the cool thing about it.

Exposed Vocals: What should your fans look forward to in 2016?

Hemy:

Well first of all I don’t see them as fans but as people who we have same interests.Like my friends.So I call them Fallen Angels.Just so we can have like a sguad name.Something that me and them can have.I don’t know why but I just wanted to put that out there.Also SO SO much are just about to come.New music,new videos and more.So yeah I hope everyone is as excited as I am!
