Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become a artist?

J-KaL: I grew up in Sacramento Kalifornia I became a artist after discovering I can flow while I was detained in a juvenile facility years ago.

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

J-KaL: My middle name is Jermaine so I just took the initial J from that and added the state of Kalifornia to the J and that was that.. J-KaL

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for
free? Why?

J-KaL: Online music sharing is a way of promotion and yes I give out my older music allot of mixtape stuff for advertising purposes.

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists
looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

J-KaL: Just keep grinding getting your music to the right people and businesses.

Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?

J-KaL: Make a mistake on stage keep going with the flow bounce back from what took place to throw u off and continue with your performance quick as possible.

Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy
hearing about?

J-KaL: To be honest I never toured before but would love to.

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting
process?

J-KaL: The best way to get inspiration as a artist is to browse around good production that motivates you to express how you feel. Verses throwing together anything just to put a song together.

Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

J-KaL: Right now I use Reverb Nation as a main platform also N1M.

Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?

J-KaL: I have some songs on there that have pretty good potential I couldn’t say any work is embarrassing but I can say I learn and grow how I can do things better after each track I do.

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would
you spend it?

J-KaL: I would provide for me and my family my close loved ones. I would also gjve back to the community’s in every ghetto in the U.S. and help provide to the homeless.

Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?

J-KaL: Right now if I need studio time I have to book time in the city.

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

J-KaL: That’s the key Promotion you can never have enough and its hard to get if you don’t have a music campaign budget and company to work with. Social media is another option to promote.

Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who
would it be with? Why?

J-KaL: I would want to work with Legends that have experience and knowledge so I could learn than music but the business aspect as well. Doctor Dre for instance would be a great professional to work with.

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

J-KaL: I just released a single with a pretty good artist me and Rico out of North Carolina who just was released from doing time came home and we cut a solid single called “Shine On” its hot check that out. Iam also in the Process of my New Solo Album Makaveli is Back.

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

J-KaL: Sports I Love sports Basketball specifically was and still am involved in a few professional opportunities internationally to play.

Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your
head?

J-KaL: I Bought Daz Dillingers album Retaliation, Revenge, and Get Back I seen it in a record store and licked it up cause I remember him being dope with the dogg pound.

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your
music life.

J-KaL: I don’t everyday is long and busy but time management has to come into place in order to complete any task make a list of things to do and knock them out each one at a time.

Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?

J-KaL: More music for sure.. Always be on the look out for J-KaL I might have some thing game changing ahead you never know
