Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

 

 

I grew up in Oxnard, Cali but now reside in Portland, Or.. but the Oxnard has a special place in my heart and will forever be my home no matter where i go. I wanted to be an artist

when i was attending AA classes. The counselor there use to always say he would write his thoughts down cuz it helped eased “it” as he use to call it… so i did and around the the sametime is when i would spit wit my boi’s Severe and My bro C and other ppl and my boi Severe said “We needed to record something” and so we did…. & yaknow the rest is history, lol

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

 

Well i was just gonna go with just my full name at first but my last name it pretty hard to pronounce and my grandpa use to say “i’m wasn’t one to cross” so it kinda made sense..

(but mostly because of the pronunciation) lol

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

 

 

Yah i would idiot not too lol but it does has it pro and cons & ill touch on that subject another time bu �yah free is music great. but you gotta know your worth or else someone will put a price tag on it for you.

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

 

Everything’s digital.

 

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

 

 

Everything, everybody and every situation but the reasoning behind WHY i do it is different.. you have to understand I started out expressing myself in a notebook so they didn’t start out as ryhmes. I used it as an outlet that just so happen to progress to the booth so its MY therapy. it saved my life on many occasion and it still does to this day & if someone just so happens to stumble upon my therapy session(Music) then great. if not the world keeps spinnin.. My writing process is pretty crazy man, lol or sporadic i should say… Cuz if the beat fits my emotion perfectly at the time i hear it, ill finish it with the quickness !. if not it’ll just sit on shuffle until it matches my mood again. I don’t go RIGHT in my studio and record it when the lyrics are finished tho.. i play it in my head until it sounds how i want it on a track. From the hook to the rhymes, ad’s, doubles, drums, you name it, If it doesn’t come out the way it sounded in my head then its back to the drawing board.

Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

 

 

No but i would like to form 1 with my boi’s Severe and C-Nasty.. I try to use as many platforms that i can and no, no favorites. They all reach someone and that’s the point.

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

 

 

I’d would go in the studio and make an album like Organized Noize did on “Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik”.. No samples, no loops, no old or new, NO NOTHING you just create. That to me is music ART in its purist form. If you seen the documentary you know wass up

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

 

 

I just so happen to record some new stuff that i’m really proud of so hopefully if things pan out the way i like it ill have “Forgive them” Ep coming soon on iTunes

Insurance lol

 

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

 

 

Like what you do or find something that will.. a slow grind is better then NO grind.
