Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
The Real Prophecy: I’m a 21 year old kid. I’m truly just like everyone, just have a story to tell. I grew up in a small town named Olivet in Michigan towards the capital. Went off to college and eventually dropped out. I started making music because I just enjoyed listening to hiphop and music in general and just thought maybe I could do that as well, and I soon became good at it and people enjoy my stage shows so I’m just pushing harder than ever.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
The Real Prophecy: my name is Trevor Ravin Perrin and I came up with The Real Prophecy. Honestly I have no idea how I truly came up with it, just felt like I truly had something to say.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
The Real Prophecy: I always give my music away for free. All of my beats are original, almost all from my brother Errol Quincy in South Africa. I met him in college. I give my music away for free to continue to build my fanbase!
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
The Real Prophecy: just be yourself. Continue pushing and never let anyone say you can’t. Not even yourself.
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
The Real Prophecy: I gather all my inspiration from my daily life and what I’ve been through. I just try to show you a little bit of who I am in each song. And my writing process is putting the beat on, writing a few bars, spit it back, practice it a few times and try to move onto the next bar.

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
The Real Prophecy: I would buy a house. Pay off my loans. Build a studio, invest into myself, start a 401k and then put my dad into a new house. I would then push harder in the music and spend a lot of time with my girlfriend and my father.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
The Real Prophecy: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Getting into touch with my friends and really building a fanbase that knows I’m just like them. Like Tech N9ne the way he built his fan base. “RideOrDie”
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
The Real Prophecy: I would prolly end up going back to school for psychology. That’s what I was originally going to college for.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
The Real Prophecy: I work a full time job on top of making the music. On top of spending time with my girlfriend and trying to have a home life. It’s harder sometimes but my girlfriend understands that this is what I love to do so it’s great.
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?
The Real Prophecy: I am currently working on my debut mixtape. More singles to come and bigger shows. Tons more visuals, and I’m for sure ready to do some traveling.
