Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

im from south Africa and i lived in a small town called Vryheid,as a kid growing up there i didn’t have a lot of friends an with no one to play with i started writing poetry to keep myself busy with something and that ended up becomeing my new best thing till i found out i can right rap music as well

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

well my real name is xolani and i like the X in it and i also consider my self as an Exter Ordinary Boy so the name X-O-B sounded very awesome to me

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

i think online music is a great platform to help start you’re career because alot of people can get to hear music from all places,and yes i do give my music away for free because thats how you can get a good fan base and also your music can be shared easily and people can get a taste of your music before they buy it

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

 i think the key is to try your best to get your music out to people,go to shows around your area as an opening act and also talent shows as well as social media are places you should visit often to try get as much exposure as you can

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

 i usually write about things happening in my life,things that ive seen and have been through so i try to give out ways in which i should have done some things in my live and try to motivate people to be themselves and do the best with what they have and just have fun

Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

i use soundcloud it’s much earlier to excess and a lot of people know about too

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

I’d open up my own record lebal with sound engineer’s and music and beat producers as well my own camera crew because not only will i be starting a movement but I’ll be also giving back to the community by helping others like me to get a shot at living their dream and getting new talent out there to heard by everyone who enjoys music

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

 for now I’ve only been using online marketing for my music and also visiting show that allow you to perform if you good enough but you don’t get paid but it’s worth it because of the fan base you can get

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

i currently have a few single tracks out but im working on a mixtape that i plan to finish this year and hopefully after that I’ll be able to give new music out

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

I’d be in college trying to get a better platform that would atleast get me a bit closer to my dream course I’ll try in all ways to make it if it’s meant to be

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

i do my best to do everything in time and also know when im getting to ahead of myself but i got alot of time for music

Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?

i have a few singles out and a song i was featured on that are available but im working on a mixtape that i hope will be done before December this year or if not next year
