Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
A.K.A Yung Snoop: well, I was born Oct 17, 1988 on the east side of Detroit, MI where I was born and raised with most of my siblings.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
A.K.A Yung Snoop: Honestly, I didn’t come up with my name, my name came up with me. The rap name I came up with was LIL-BRA ABK, until one day I was shopping at the mall with my lady. and this random guy walked up to me with handshake gesture like ” Hey Snoop, what’s up?! ” since then it stuck with me and that’s what everyone started to call me.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
A.K.A Yung Snoop: I think online music sharing is good, and yes I do give music away for free. Why?? To try and build a better fan base foundation and just cause I feel like my music is good & different so I’m trying to get others to listen and get in tune.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
A.K.A Yung Snoop: I’m kind of still in the “start-up” phase myself. But my advice would be to keep networking, stay humble, keep making music and promoting yourself, collab with other artist, open mic it, most important try to stay positive.
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
A.K.A Yung Snoop: My songwriting inspiration comes from daily life. My songwriting process is making sure it’s true to me, real and relatable, heart felt.

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
A.K.A Yung Snoop: If I had a 1/2 mill and a yr off. I’m going to make sure my family is straight first then I’ll start investing and donating to schools for the youth.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
A.K.A Yung Snoop: I’ve watched and learned from past and present artist mistakes and achievements, looked online did a little research to try to come up with a way that works best for me. So far it’s only been the back in the day “word of mouth” to work for me right now because I’m not always on social media.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
A.K.A Yung Snoop: more music, hopefully more gigs. I am working on a new project, mixtape called “No Swisher’s”… A few songs done, a few collabs to go. “Forever” is one to on the upcoming mixtape. Now on YouTube.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
A.K.A Yung Snoop: If wasn’t or didn’t start making I’d probably be dead or in jail.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
A.K.A Yung Snoop: I just thank and ask God for strength & understanding, and take it on day at a time.
