Exposed Vocals Interviews Adrian Saterfield

Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

 

Adrian: I grew up in Milton, Fl. and I started making music the summer after I graduated high school because I was really bored and I wanted to pass the time away. I started really enjoying it and my friends really liked the beats I was making so I kept doing it and started to take it more serious.

 

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

 

Adrian: I didn’t really want to spend time trying to think of a nickname to give myself so I just stuck with my own name for now. I feel your work makes the name not the name makes the work.

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

 

Adrian: I like it as a way to get your work out there and gives you a way to male money as well. I don’t give my music away for free because I don’t want someone else getting success off of something I did without me getting something out of it.

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

Adrian: I would say to focus on making music and trying to get it to as many people as possible, don’t get caught up in distractions. Trust that what you are doing is going to get you where you want to go.

 

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

 

Adrian: I will make a beat and decide what I want the song to be about based on the beat and then I will just let it come to me. I won’t try to force anything.

Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

 

Adrian: I don’t have a website and the platforms I use are Facebook, Twitter, SoundCloud, and YouTube.

 

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

 

Adrian: Honestly, I would put it in the bank, and hang out with friends and family. I would also make music here and there if anything comes to me because some of the best stuff I have made came to me out of nowhere.

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

 

Adrian: I try to share it on social media and so far the platform that has worked best for me is SoundCloud.

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

 

Adrian: I’m always making new stuff so I would say just stay tuned because I’m always thinking of new stuff to create.

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

 

Adrian: I feel music is one of those things that you can branch off and do other things once you get to a certain point so, when I get to that point I would like to be a Pro Wrestler for the WWE. I think I can be a music artist and a WWE superstar.

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

 

Adrian: I have to balance both music, and the other things I have going on. Sometimes, you need to get away for a little bit and then come back.

Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?

 

 

Adrian: Look forward to someone who is going to change the music world and bring a different style of sound and lyrics. I’m not in this for the same reason everyone else is. They want to see what music can do for them. I want to see what I can do for music. It’s just one of those things that I feel in my heart. I know I have something that the world will want to hear and I’m going to give everything I have to try and be heard and not just be heard but make an impact, try to make their lives better through music.
