Princess Campbell is an Electronic Musician who has been Producing Music since she was a small girl. She grew up around a lot of Musical influence and now has a Label of her own called Above Ridicule Records! There is currently a new Album in progress that is called My Kingdom Is The Dance Floor. Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Princess Campbell: I grew up in New York and shifted locations a few times because I was abandoned and taken from my Parents at a very young age. Music was a high influence of mine from the beginning of my life. My Mother, when she was still close enough to visit me a few times; would bring me CDs and the Family that I lived with had me basically entrapped in my bedroom so they didn’t have to deal with me. That consisted of me being in my room with a radio that featured a repeat feature and I love repeating songs a lot of times in a row, especially ones that would bring me love through the Musicians since I didn’t have any where I had been forced to live! I was also in my School’s Orchestra and Marching Band. One of my friends in School’s Father was the Band Teacher so I was given more opportunity than some of the other Students. While others only picked up one instrument; I was learning multiple instruments as well as being around someone that was into Turntable-ism scratching. The instruments that I learned in School were: Clarinet, French Horn, Trumpet, Alto Sax, Bass Drum, Snare Drum and Acoustic Guitar. Also, Independently I learned: Bass Guitar, Keyboard, Flute, Other Percussion and Harmonica. The reason that I decided to become an Artist is because Music is the only thing that connects me to being with my Parents again and I love expressing myself so that I can help others.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Princess Campbell: My Artist name is my Family name from my Mother’s Ancestors and I am forever a Princess because my Mother was adopted so she was forced to take other names that were in no relation to our family. My Campbell Royalty is connected from Scotland and the first woman of the Campbell name in Marriages was the Stewart Royalty from Brittany France. I am very at peace with who my family is and understand what it is like in these modern times to be a part of Royalty that has migrated to the United States. I am blessed and honored to be where I am and have a lot of knowledge of World History in relation to my own DNA as well as how to detect it in others. I am not a DNA expert, but I don’t claim to be.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Princess Campbell: Online Music Sharing is such a great opportunity to share my gift of my Music with others so they can hear it. I occasionally receive messages from fans that are interested in my Music and I send them my links so that they can hear all of my songs. I give my songs for free because I am not yet Licensed with a Degree for my Music Production and the United States is in serious efforts to develop the World based on what is called Fair Labor Laws. That consists of a person earning an education and then being allowed to do the work that they earn certification for. Anyone that isn’t in accordance with those laws should not be paid for it because it goes against the law which is holding together the entire Country so that people are equal, educated and not taken advantage of. I had to take a brief time off from attending my Entertainment Industry University-Full Sail University (Winter Park, Florida) because of my own financial reasons. As soon as I get them paid, I will be returning to finish earning my Bachelor’s Degree! I love Full Sail University. The Teachers and Staff are all some of the best friends that I ever had! Oprah’s boyfriend Stedman Graham oversees some of the operations at Full Sail and Full Sail University is the Harvard of the Entertainment Industry!
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Princess Campbell: My advice is for new Musicians to strive to earn a Degree or Certificate of Education because the Government is getting ready to crack down on who will be accepted for employment in the near future. Soon they will not be allowing so many that don’t have educations to have a job at all. It is all nice that you want independent lives where you call all of the shots, but the Government is soon stepping in to assure that all people get the equal treatment and fair wages based on what they had chosen to learn at School and not be discriminated. There is a standard set and that is how it is for all jobs. No one is going to try to sneak money from people anymore without School Education Certification. The Teachers become Teachers to help Students achieve and they deserve for their dedication. They really do a lot. Learn to appreciate people that set the path for you is my biggest tip for anyone, not just Musicians. The Government always finds a way to stop people so no one will be able to use and abuse anymore once these new rules are fully in place. Say hello to Heaven everyone- you will be saved whether you agree with it or not.
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
Princess Campbell:
My music is usually inspired from when I have a broken heart, have been abused from someone, or am writing what I wish someone would be like to me instead of how they actually are toward me. When I write a song I usually use my Campbell-Electro BPM speed, which is 187 Beats Per Minute. I am the CopyWrite Protected Founder of 187 BPM speed Campbell-Electro Music under my Label Above Ridicule Records. I get inspired to write on sunny days because those days I will write a wonderful song that inspires the beauty of the day. I like to make songs that will make a person get up and dance their sorrows away!

Princess Campbell:

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
Princess Campbell:
I would go on a Groove Cruise to see Musicians and get my songs played on the Ship while we PARTY! I would purchase an awesome Convertible, have it customized with parts and paints and then drop that top and let it bounce- cruising New York with some phat beats and good friends while we bring our Professional Sony Camera Gear and take photos! And I’d by my baby girl so she can be implanted from a Professional Doctor at the Fertility Clinic and save money so that she can have daycare, belongings and Education.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Princess Campbell:
I promote my Music on Google, YouTube, Chat Rooms, Websites, Blogs and Word of Mouth. My best way is when I make Music videos and post them on YouTube or adding songs to SoundCloud or ReverbNation.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Princess Campbell:
I am currently working on a full length 12 song Album under Above Ridicule Record’s Label that is called My Kingdom Is The Dance Floor. About half of the songs are complete. It’s expected completion is this Fall 2016 or Winter 2017.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Princess Campbell:
I am not just a Musician. I am also a Beautician. I spend time doing Artistic things with Fashion and developing techniques to use within the Beauty Salons. In the past I did a bit of modeling and am often asked from high end Artists to be their theme of art pieces.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
Princess Campbell:
I have a very crazy schedule right now, but I always take care of priorities and then I have time to enjoy my favorite things. I enjoy: Music, Art, Sony PlayStation, Fashion, Getting Hair Done, Manicures, Pedicures, Wigs and Fitness.
