Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

 

Branden Wood: I grew up in a tiny town in South Carolina called Greenville not very many musicians come from this town however there have been maybe 2 or 3. What made me decide to become an artist was my love for music, I have very bad anxiety and depression so music helps to calm me and always has music fills a void.

 

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

 

Branden Wood: It is my real name but whenever anyone said my name I always thought it should have an e instead of an o.

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

 

Branden Wood: I think it is a great chance to promote your music it helps a lot with finding an audience and yes of course I may have just released my first actual song however I do plan on doing free EPs and albums in the future.

 

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

Branden Wood: Hard work doesn’t go unnoticed I myself am a start-up so I know what it’s like to try to get some attention.

 

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

 

Branden Wood: Anywhere honestly I gather inspiration while listening to music, singing to myself, or whatever I typically record myself singing random stuff in my car or whatever for a few minutes and then go back and write down anything that I liked, creativity is sparked at any moment.

Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

 

Branden Wood: I enjoy Soundcloud although it is difficult to promote there it is still a great platform for sharing music along with YouTube of course.

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

 

Branden Wood: I would give some to my mother, pay off my car, and start recording more music to multiply my earnings maybe invest a little and of course buy a few little things here and there but try to save as much as I can.

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

 

Branden Wood: Social media is of course the best way to go whether it be Twitter or Facebook or whatever it works in time everything works out.

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

 

Branden Wood: I am currently working on my very first EP to breakout into the music business entitled ‘Promise’ I’m putting a lot of time and thought into this album.

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

 

Branden Wood: Wishing I was making music because it’s what I absolutely love to do.

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

 

Branden Wood: I have a supportive girlfriend along with free time after work or before work hell I will record over night a lot of times I do what I can.

Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?

 

Branden Wood: New music and growth is yet to come.
