Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

Ella: I was born and raised in a small, beautiful country called Czech Republic and I recently still live here. My dream has always been to make music and make people happy with it. I would be encouraged by many people to actually make music and publish it, so here I am, trying to do what I love and enjoy.

 

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

 

Ella: My best friend would start calling me Ella, since he would always complain about my real name being too long for him to remember. Somehow, I fell in love with it and I decided to use it.

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

 

Ella: Personally I think that it’s great to share your music online. It gives more people the chance to get to know you, and vice versa, you get to know more people who actually enjoy your music. I do give my music away for free, because not everything is about money, and seeing a smile on someone’s face because they get to genuinely enjoy your music for free is literally the best feeling ever.

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

Ella: Don’t be shy to ask for what you want. Sometimes you need to make the first step. If you are going to wait for someone to ask you to come and perform in their club, you could as well wait forever. Go there, be brave enough and ask them yourself. Trust me, this is the best way how to make people notice you.

 

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

 

Ella: This might sound cliché, but I get inspired in people and their stories. Sometimes a thing happens and it gives me an idea, so I write it down, and I either finish it within a few minutes, or I don’t finish it at all. I guess it’s not really a good thing because I have so many drafts that could make a god song, but my bad habit is not coming back to those. But who knows, maybe things will change with time.

Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

 

Ella: I would go to the studio and spent all the time working hard on an album to make it sound as good as possible.

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

 

Ella: I guess putting it on facebook and tumblr has worked the best for me so far. I have some great friends that have been sharing my music with their friends as well. I believe your friends can help you a lot.

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

 

Ella: Recently I’m working on my second song, and when that one is finished, I would like to go to a recording studio and record both songs of mine professionally. I’m super excited for people to hear my new song though, and I hope they will like it.

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

 

Ella: Since I have no other talents, I guess I would just focus on work and travelling a lot.

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

 

Ella: I have always tried to be precise with the things I do, so I just try to schedule things and do everything I have to do properly.

Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?

 

Ella: Well, there might be collaboration with a Norwegian producer, that I adore, so I hope you guys stay tuned.
