Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
I lived in Washington State until around the age of 9. Thats when I moved to Georgia. I came from no type of music background, but really just got into it having fun with my friends.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Track Junkee actually originated from the other side of my career, Production. TrackJunkee.Com is the platform I used to sell my beats.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
I would like to think that not only theres levels to this game. But also strategies. Their is nothing wrong with giving away free music if the ultimate goal is to monetize. As far as their being levels to this game, If your music is not at that level where it is good enough to be purchased, then of course you would need to give it away in order to promote yourself.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Network!! make connections with people in power pertaining to what you are trying to accomplish. Email and DM can be very powerful if you approach people in a professional manner. I have reached and opened up direct lines with prominent artist/producers etc on social media, simply by addressing them correctly. Learn business, create a brand, market that brand.
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
I Would say silence, with the Instrumental up high and some potent medicinal. Depends, I never usually write lyrics first, I listen to what the beat is telling me to do, record a melody or rhythm, then go back and write words to it.
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
I Have a Wix Site, and Soundcloud. Of course you can purchase my music on CdBaby, iTunes, Google Play Etc. If your a Youtube streamer I can be found there also.
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
I prefer not to reveal any of my business plans , but I can assure you, I would have songwriting/production credits across all genres in the mainstream industry.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
I would say, Having good music has been the most effective. Social media is great, But blogs are probably the best way to reach out to new fans. Interviews like this one here
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Other than working “Drop Me At The Studio” I am working on an E.P. which will be available on iTunes and all major digital streaming and distribution platforms.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
I would like to think I would be a motivational speaker, or a writer. But honestly I would probably be in prison somewhere.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
Its rough, I try to put aside special time with my family, but nothing comes without sacrifice. So currently Im putting in extra overtime.
