Exposed vocals: so tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Mr.King: My story has been quite a glorious one, S/O 2 Dem boyz making flames on the mountains. In all odds we prevail. I was Born and brought up in Nigeria. What made me decide to become an artist was the drive for good music and reach out to the people because that’s why we’re living.
Exposed vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Mr.:King: Its not just a name, its who i am(Emmanuel) and that’s the highest of royalty, it has been like that since the beginning of time so i thought it proper to go with the King . Just made it a bit formal,with the Mr.
Exposed vocals: What do you think about online sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Mr.King: Online music sharing is perhaps the fastest way of sharing your music and as well as reaching out to people in different places, different ways and different time. And as much as the dividends goes, is still a necessity to give since its more about giving back to the people, so i could always have some free give aways.
Exposed vocals: Since everyone was a start up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips.
Mr.King: Always have good stuffs and go to the right places also work your way and bring in the vibe when its needed.
Exposed vocals: where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your song writing process?
Mr.King: It comes usually from life experiences, things happening around me and the world in total. Once the music is in you it comes from different angle. Then my process of writing usually is getting the vibe down on my recorder or write it down on my notepad, sometimes the beat inspires the song.
Exposed vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platform do you use to share your music.
Mr.King: We are working to get the band website running but currently working with reverbnation.com andnotjustok.com.
Exposed vocals: If you were given half a million dollars sand a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
Mr.King : I would be the happiest person right about then, because it would aide me take my music career to the next level, achieve my many dreams, rise to the bill gates corridors and also give reach the world by doing alot of good for people.
Exposed vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works for you best?
Mr.King: Through DJ’s, radio stations, blogs and sorting out interviews that would promote the brand.
Exposed vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Mr.King: Am working on some songs currently then maybe would drop an E.P later in the year, also working on a new book which would be coming soon. Also working on some videos. Its gong to be great #greatnessalltheway.
Exposed vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Mr.King: I would probably still be writing songs and books, then pay more attention to my fashion skills.
Exposed vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life.
Mr.King: Its actually about planing and timing the rest of my responsibilities so as not to clash with my music life.
Exposed vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?
Mr.King: Everything greatness. Because that’s the reason why we’re balling and grinding hard.
