Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

 

Devo: I was born in Montgomery, Alabama. I grew up in a small country town called Stills Crossroads. I had a rather small family growing up but music was in their family before my time. My dad played a little guitar and my mom introduced me to music greatly. I became addicted to the music at a early age.

 

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

 

Devo: My name is Devin , over the time I guess my friends started calling me that and it stuck.

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

 

Devo: I use soundcloud , and I always let the people here it for free. I’m really in this music for the message behind it. But if I ever go far , I gotta get paid to support my own too.

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

Devo: Always stay consistent! Never let yourself down . You deserve the best work hard and things will happen !

 

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

 

Devo: I usually get my inspiration from everyday things. I usually think of how I’d like to change myself for the good , or how I’d change the world for the better. Unity is key is my  music.

Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

 

Devo: I’d make sure my family was good first! Then I’d definitely take a much needed vacation. After that it would be all for music and bills . I don’t need much just the ones I love and the music.

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

 

Devo: I put it up on every website i can. I tell my cousin Young Rec ,who is the co founder of $tillzEnt, and he’s doing the same thing.

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

 

Devo: Our debut EP “AM:PM” is coming soon. So be ready !

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

 

Devo: I’d still be in college and working my tail off. Spending time with my daughter most of the time.

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

 

Devo: I try my best to put my responsibilities first and keep a level head.

Devo: The EP , and hopefully a bomb mixtape for y’all. Stay tuned.
