| Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Elvana: Well Sir, growing up on our ranch in Disgraceland we were just four poor white boys trying make our way in this world so it was either music or hittin’ the cotton fields and hoping you’ll live past 30. Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it? Elvana: We combined the words Elvis and Nirvana. True story. Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why? Elvana: Always. Our shotguns are rusted through and our begging hats full of holes. Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips? Elvava: That is a tough one, we’ve all played music for a lotta years now but I suppose the best thing we could advise is to make sure you bite hard onto the splint when your being corn-holed. It’ll happen often enough for it to feel normal. Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process? Elvana: Our inspiration is the combined works of Nirvana and Elvis Aaron Presley. Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music? Elvana: Our website is being built. We had to fire the last guy who was working on it due to an incident involving Elvis’ sweat towels and a positive STI infection an unnamed band member acquired. That Facebook is real handy, it could really take off one day. Those Twitter guys and gals are real swell too. Only two of us can read so Instagram helps. Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it? Elvana: We’d spend it on cheeseburgers, narcotics, guns and sending untraceable death threats to our ex-wives … and their lawyers. Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you? Elvana: Well Sir, live shows are real swell and the best dang way for us. We’re a live band so, you know, it helps. Also that new ‘innernet’ thing has a lot of ways of telling people what we do. Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about? Elvana: Well we were supposed to headline the Reading festival this year but turns out that’s the weekend Elvis’ personal grooming artist tends to his side burns so, you know, we had to pass on that one. We’re touring the UK in September and October at 02 Academy venues in Oxford, Islington, Sheffield, Birmingham, Glasgow, Liverpool and Newcastle upon-Tyne City. It’s gonna be real swell daddy-o! Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing? Elvana: Giving hand jobs at drive thru’s … *figuratively speaking. Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life? Elvana: Well Sir, sleep is overrated and you can never get enough bourbon.
