Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

 

BlazeconHD: Well I’m a product of Africa, Born &  bread in Zimbabwe in the 2nd capital of Bulawayo. At the age of about 14 I saw a cousin of mine messing with FL Studio & took an interest to it, so  he kinda showed me how it works & I feel in love with music production & it was LOVE at first BEAT.

 

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

 

BlazeconHD: When I first got into the industry i started as “Blaze” but because of the number of artists out there who call them selves “Blaze”  I decided to change to “BlazeconHDMI”, but then I changed it because it was just too long until one day when I was with my guys in the studio dropping a freestyle I just called my self Mr HD & I thought it was cool so did errbody so from then I became “BlazeconHD” though some call me HD.

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

 

BlazeconHD: Uhmm yea you know the Internet can be a a great tool for the artist today, with all these sharing sites I think they help us as artists reach a much wider audience around the world, because I I mean gone are the days when an artist would have to tour to get their sound heard in another country but now all you gotta do is SoundCloud it & you could be buzzing in Europe while in the states or something so yea online sharing is good, now when it comes to giving out my music for free, I don’t mind because the more they get access to me as a brand & my music as the product that’s good for business, when it comes to selling & distribution.

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

BlazeconHD: OK the biggest mistake I see many artists making is releasing sub standard quality tracks & thinking that all the cussing in they songs is cool. Listen first of all if you looking to get your music on radio you gotta go there with a a good clean record that meets their standards not no messed up recording that sounds as if it was recorded in a tunnel or Sumin. Also the radio stations are looking for radio friendly music that’s not full of swearing or too many beeps that the song ends up sounding like a beeper. I’d also advice any artist to work on building relationships with djs, promoters, bigger artists & anyone who is connected in the game because in this industry connections are very important, the right plug can turn you up.

 

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

 

BlazeconHD: when it comes to songwriting I have a very different approach because I don’t usually sit & write but what I do or what usually happens is that because 90% of the time I’m surrounding by other artists so we can be chatting & someone might say something & I might just answer back with a rhyme next thing I’m typing lyrics in my phone & yea that’s it.

Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

 

BlazeconHD: At the moment I’m on the process of building my personal website as well as the site to the new production team I just set up called #ThaMunchies but at the moment my music is available on Reverberation, SoundCloud & soon on AudioMack.

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

 

BlazeconHD: First of all I’m a firm believer in God so I’d take 10% & pay my tithe then I’d use the reminder of the 450k to  pay of some debts, buy studio equipment and invest it in some projects because bad financial choices have ended many bright careers. I’d also use the time of to get more creative ideas for my craft.

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

 

BlazeconHD: I’m very active online  on Twitter, Facebook & I’m always networking & have a street team so that how I do it.

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

 

BlazeconHD: Well I’ve been on a year long Break from the scene but this year I’m planning on releasing a mixtape  together with my team Tha Munchies & we got some other singles we recording at the moment but that’s all I can share for now.

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

 

BlazeconHD: if I wasn’t making music I’d most probably be promoting or managing artists.

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

 

BlazeconHD: Well seeing as I also have a job & a small business I’m running, I usually prioritize what to do at a a certain time because sometimes I gotta focus on the business more than the industry but I I also find time to hit the studio & put in some work.

Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?

 

BlazeconHD: All I can say is that 2016 is going to be a great year for my brand & team, we working we working we working. You know how they say before the storm comes the calm, well we been calm it’s time for the storm to come no x-men lol.
