Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

Javo: Im 20 years old, and i was born in Chicago,  IL.  I moved around alot at a young age but most of my young years were spent on the southside of chicago near my grandmothers home in Roseland. Then i moved to Dolton, and thats in the south suburbs. I grew up there. My friends and family made me want to be a artist, because i only want more them,  better for myself,  and im tired of struggling and just getting by.  I also love music itself. I also want to be a star to be a role model to kids and show them,  that they can live a great life as long as they keep God first in everything they do

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

Javo: All of my bros,  have been  calling me Javo since my freshman year in high school, whenever we play pick up basketball. Then it became part of my twitter name. Then it became common so i just rather stick with my real name no gimmicks like drake. I can also play around with alot in my lyrics.

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

Javo: I think its great, infact thats what also gave me some inspiration because i see so many young artist around my age  making it these days in no time, take fetty wap, kodak black, rae sremmurd  And i figured im just as talented if not more as them so why not try to go viral and feed my family and friends. I will give alot of my music away for free,  because I just want to make great music for my fans,  and mixtapes like Lil wayne,  Future, and Mac miller. I know that the money will come in sooner or later through touring or me investing in things.

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

Javo: I just started rapping a few months ago,  but i can say just Chase your dream and make sure everything you do is honest and from the heart.  Other than that im looking for gigs and airplay myself lbs.

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

Javo: I usually get inspiration from my surroundings, and things that go on around me.  Like i feel the need to talk about any topic from church, hypocrisy to my experiences w/women,  drugs, college life, movies, games,  violence,  being from the burbs but frequently seeing how bad the city is,  sports or any current events because i like to read and watch interesting things. Then i just go from there,  other than that i just listen to other artist that i think i want to be better than like Drake, Mac miller, or Gherbo.

Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

Javo: No but i plan on making one when i get a chance.  I use soundcloud, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and snapchat to share my music for now.  Im hoping to use spinrilla,  datpiff,  and livemixtapes soon as possible.

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

Javo: I would get a car nd pay for me and all of my friends student loan debt so far, I would also build a studio that i can record in whenever i want. I would also give my parents a better house. Most of it will go to my music though and ill save a little bit of splurging.

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

Javo: I see sites like yours that offers promotion and im going to start taking advantage of those.  As of now im just doing alot of networking,  and using my friends to spread my music around,  back in there citys and on campus. I use social sites as well. Im not to sure what works best yet but im hoping to keep getting exposure like this.

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

Javo: As of now my plan is to keep dropping heat on soundcloud,  alot of Songs and Freestyles that are more mastered, refined, and thought out. I also want to get a few videos for my songs so people can get a visual of who i am, how i act,  where i came from,  and who i hang around. I would like to have a buzz soon as possible but if not im still gonna drop a mixtape by the end of the year called the first quarter and try to create a buzz from that.

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

Javo: I probably would still be in school,  smoking and wasting my life away.

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

Javo: I just try not to worry alot, and take every day, day by day. I pray that god is ahead of everything i do so i be believe everything will come i just have to put in the work.

Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016?

Javo: They can look foward to the birth of the next star of this generation,  and some more of me spitting constant bars,  and stories over hard beats.
